(((((Andi))))) Don't burn yourself out, sweetie. I get really frazzled at work too, and especially frustrated with my ever-growing stack of filing that never seems to get really done. Ask yourself this question: In 20 years will it really matter if I get caught up today? Will my life be happier? Usually my answer is "no" so I sit back, take a deep breath, and pace myself. Or ask HR for some help.
I'm glad you like your job -- that's a real plus! And I hope you feel better soon.
BG, I know how you feel....I work a 72 hr week...nites....when it gets to me, I take Folic Acid tabs....1 a day in the morning if I just need a boost to feel more energetic to make it thru the day....2 tabs in the morning if I REALLY need to be "flying" throughtout the day and into the evening....I only take 'em when I need 'em, so they always work for me....Folic Acid is a form of iron that doesn't accumulate and cause problems like regular supplements containing iron....it's just a suggestion, Dawn....if you decide to use it, I hope it helps you, hon...
((Billygoat)) Treat yourself to a massage or pedicure. it will help with the tension. It's like having an oasis in the middle of a busy day, even if only for 30-60 minutes.
I worked for a drug pusher Pharm. company in San Fran, and you're right, it is burn out work. I worked my A$$ off for two years! so much bureaucracy and paperwork. At least the money was good.
Wow. You guys are awesome! I figured I might get a glance or two on this post, but not so many responses! Thank you - my day has been made!
And just to explain the background a little more, our company is going through a HUGE expansion right now. We're hiring like crazy in our sales force. We are also short-staffed, so my workload is increasing daily. Yes, the see it slowly down in another few months, but not right now. I am the newest person in the office and I'm handling THREE division. The other two girls are handling two a piece. I have a feeling they are doing this to test me a bit. But I'm hanging in there. I want to prove to them that they've hired the right person. But I'm practicing saying "no" at the appropriate times. They'll give me stuff to do until I push back.
But one particular comment I'd like to respond to:
hmmmmm the midwife in me picks up on the words "so tired", hmmmm been to the drugstore lately for a pregnancy test??????
HUSH YO MOUTH!!! I've had 6 coworkers get preggo since I've started here. If Mozzer put a bun in my oven, I'd simply sit and cry. Bad timing. One of these days we'll come back from China or Latvia with a darling child to keep as our own. Perhaps a pregnancy after that - but not likely. We're doing EVERYTHING to not get that way yet. Besides getting pregnant right now would just be irresponsible.
Thank you for all your hugs and encouragement. I REALLY appreciate it!
