OK folks- here we go, live from Sao Paulo airport in Brazil:
Governing Body member Sam Herd and Two-Witness rule keeper Gary Breaux have just arrived in Brazil for their special International Assembly.
Instead of a quiet, humble entry, throngs of followers clap and chant for the visiting "dignitaries" as Herd and Breaux shake hands and pose for photos.
Meanwhile, Jehovah's Witnesses in Brazil have a serious problem with child abuse which has grown out of control, and is under investigation (that is all I can say at the moment.)
Gary Breaux, as head of the Service Department for Watchtower is literally shaking hands with the very people he is placing in danger - the children and families who have no real idea what these men are capable of.
Herd and Breaux make decisions which directly impact the lives of several hundred thousand Brazilian JWs- not to mention the rest of the world.
Soon we will see information released which shows the extent of the problem in this country, and how Watchtower has directed the Brazilian branch to find every available loophole in the legal system to avoid reporting child abuse to the authorities.
There is a massive disconnect between the average JW and the leadership in this organization- and the throngs of clapping, cheering JWs make this very clear.
