STA - So good to hear that you both survived this incident with just bad feelings about it. As you said, it could've turned into a very bad story for you both.

Just a p.s. when it comes to driving - if you don't have one, buy a dash-cam ASAP!

From personal experience, I can guarantee it can save you a lot of grief - as well as receiving compensation very quickly! :)

A local policeman recently told me that they wished every driver had one in their car.

Yes. The 'Good Samaritan' in us can actually make us the 'victim' unfortunately.

I can't remember the exact story, but a helpless person with a broken down car side of the road. The single occupant of a passing-by vehicle became a victim to 2 or 3 male assailants who were hiding in the shrubs nearby. They robbed him blind at knife point and drive off in his vehicle.

It's hard to tell sometimes. Unfortunately.

Wow, you are so lucky! and even now, you have to remain very cautious.

My husband and I were watching a show called Goliath on Amazon Prime about a very smart lawyer who tries to help people, who is always escaping with his life moment after moment. The last one we watched was about the cartel, And everything they are involved in. Sometimes they just knock off the witnesses to a crime, just because! Let's hope you are not dealing with the cartel or drugs or anyting exponential.

    So be VERY careful! OMG!

I feel for you and your wife. Sorry this happened to you. Situations like these are the reason I tend to just keep moving right along when things happen because it is to easy to end up in a bad situation when trying to help someone else.

About 8 years ago while my wife, 3 other friends and I were in field service there was a woman broke down on the side of the road on a busy street at 10 in the morning.

The brother driving pulled over to help and when he popped the hood her shithole man friend gets out the passenger seat and put a gun to the brothers stomach and told him to tell everyone in the car to give up their money... we all got robbed and some scared because of lowlife thugs taki mb g advantage

I am sorry this happened. Something similar could have happened to me years ago at the hands of a not-very-bright brother.. I told the fool he better not ever stop with US in his car.

The idea that he could endanger the whole car group never entered the idiot’s mind.

Just as well that I’m out because I have no use for Witnesses and I would never place my trust in one after this incident.

Thank you all for your comments and recommendations. I will be very, very careful for now on and there is no drug cartel. It was a fight over a damn motorcycle. I guess it was worth killing over. So senseless. Still Totally ADD

Glad to hear you cooperated with the police until they sorted everything out and released you. That's better than doing what some do: Not obeying the officer to show their hands, running away, etc. And then being held up as a victim when the officers do what they have to do for their own and others' safety.

Blue dog we were so much in shock when the police came all we could do was just stare at them. The only one who put their hands up was the long hair guy. I must say the police were very nice to us and keep thanking and telling us what good people we were for staying and giving them a statement. One even told me how many never get involved. Overall it is nothing like you see on tv. Still Totally ADD

As a Brit what strikes me is that you also perceived the police as a threat , and people giving the advice to comply or else !
