Girls, Would You Say "No" If.....

.....Your boyfriend proposed to you while on vacation?

The reason I ask this is because a couple I know was away in the tropics, and he popped the question. She said "yes". And yet, since they've been back (over 8 months) they've been mum on all things wedding. They are still together though.

I wonder if proposing to someone in a situation like that puts a certain degree of added pressure on them. After all, there you are, on vacation - wouldn't saying "no" make the vacation somewhat less romantic, and perhaps even awkward? And saying "I'll think about it" could put a damper on things too, I would guess.

So girls, clue me in - and guys, tell me, would you propose while away on vacation?

I wouldn't say no if I wanted to marry the guy. If I didn't want to marry him, I would definitely say no, why beat around the bush? This is why I think communication is so important in a relationship, when someone proposes they should have all right to expect a yes.

I think that if you don't already know the answer that you're poppin' the question way too soon.

'The proposal', imho, is a romantic formality and vacation would be a perfectly appropriate place to ask it. (Think of the celebrating after, woo-hoo!!!!)

yeah it's a bad idea to ask if youre not certain theyll say yes. if someone proposed to me on vacation and i didnt want to get married, i'd say no, and i'd just feel sick for the entire rest of the time. it would wreck the vacation completely.

I often wonder about these marriage proposals at big public venues like football games and the like. What would happen if the girl said no? And, the pressure on her to say yes when proposed to at those events...

There's a lot of pressure put on anyone who is getting proposed to. I've been in both situation where I proposed, and I've been proposed to. Being on a vacation would definately bring more pressure. However, I look at it this way, if you're not serious about the person, you shouldn't be on vacation with them.
