Divide it into 2 X 6 litres?
Since 2 X 6 = 12 I would just leave it in the bucket
Or, if for some strange reason I really needed to divide it up I would use a measuring cup to put 6 litres in the 8 litre bottle, and perhaps a funnel to avoid spilling any.
If we were talking about beer instead of water, I would simply drink it.

Here's a shorter solution. Highlight to get the answer.
Step 1: fill the 8 litre container. You now have 4, 8, 0 litres
Step 2: pour the 8 litre into the 5 litre. You now have 4, 3, 5
Step 3: pour the 8 into the 12. You now have 7,0,5
Step 4: pour the 12 into the 8. You now have 1,6,5
Step 5: pour the 5 into the 12. You now have 6,6,0
