Those who refuse to prep are at the mercy to those who do. If you are not old enough to remember when three bank robbers with AKs and ARs shot to shit a whole police dept. They were not used to getting shot back at like this. It took hours to get it under control. When the LA riots took over the police backed out and let it run. If you think the police can protect you if there is a major disruption in first responders being sick and overwhelmed, You are not the sharpest tool in the shed. Crime may see an spike due to people being laid off. I have an aunt who has several rental units and she said they are all laid off frantically trying to get gov. aid to pay the rent. What the hell do you think is the end result of this kind of disruption in not only peoples pay check but when food disruptions hit? Good luck keep people from stealing with your cat spray bottle. 3 to 4 weeks ago people were calling me over reacting for stocking up extra on TP, PT, canned food, BTW went to wally world last night and no tuna, now canned vegetables not much in the freezer section. So glad I have a years worth of food put back. I also have a CCW for many years. I carry a 9mm when ever I go out. I hope to never need it and will try to avoid any place I may need it. But if you need it and don't have it you are SOL. I have had one occasion I was with my wife on a deserted road between cities and had a car come up behind me flash lights to get me to stop then pull next to me while driving and just mirror my car. Then pulled way ahead pulled off a side road and then followed me flashing again. I had my 9mm at the ready. Will a gun make you invincible not at all, but its the only think that can keep distance between you and those who mean you harm and you still have some control. Without I don't care how many carrots you eat or weights you can bench press you are SOL No matter how big you are how healthy you are two shots to the chest of Mike Tyson and he is down.

I'm glad I live in a country where people aren't constantly preparing for civil war...

It appears those who do have little faith in their own government and fellow countrymen. Perhaps rightly so.

At the same time it's believed to be the greatest, bestest, most civilizest country in the whole universe.

I know a lot of people on the forum scoff at the idea of guns because they don’t come from the US or understand and maybe because they live in a relatively peaceful small country with mainly one race or ethnic group.

They don’t have jealous hateful fellow citizens or elements - some who would just as soon secretly see them dead - and this under good circumstances!..They also don’t see empty shelves and shortages YET in their supermarkets so they don’t feel the sense of anxiety that other people may feel.

I’m glad you are prepared with food and supplies stocked up. I hope to God you don’t ever need to use your gun..I don’t have a gun, but am glad my landlord does..The fact that some people know you are prepared could make you a target. Be safe!

I live out in the countryside in England near a village of 600 people. We had a meeting this evening to organise ourselves. About thirty volunteers have been given about ten houses each, next to their homes to check on the welfare of the occupants. This means that everyone including the elderly and infirm are visited a minimum of once a week, the vulnerable more frequently, to see if anyone is lacking in food or transport. This way, should anyone who gets sick or worse still, contracts the Covid 19 virus it will quickly become apparent and measures can be immediately taken.

The same idea will work in urban areas, it requires local volunteers and a list of those willing to help out in emergencies or do shopping for others etc and a street or block coordinator.

Our village has a facebook page which connects people and gives local news and alerts.
