wt on education..

  I have just watched the glass smashing on the wt video on education.

  Please consider these experiences from the opposite side of that "coin".

  I have heard young ones say out-loud on the mike in the kh that "jehovah is my special friend.."These ones who were at the top of the wt 'tree' pioneering, putting in the hours etc but, It followed that soon saying that pivotal statement they dropped their pioneering, faded, picked up the girl/boyfriend and suffered being dfd.

  so where did their wt "education" leave them? It left them as young adults naive to the world, unskilled, with no qualification to offer any employer and having to replace their former family/associates/friends with new ones.

  ( dont get me going on shunning) In some cases with little success as we have read here where they moon about for months or longer unable to emotionally heal after the leaving or df'ing and also others with such a turn around they would never have believed it possible..

  There was a wt that related how a brother (!) followed an interest in history and left the truth. In this account there was no mention of what history my guess it was the history of the wt itself.

  Having an education and a qualification lifts one up you stand tall and can look at the 'man in the glass' and say well done and it also says to prospective employers this is what i have achieved I can be valuable to you.

  can someone post what`s this all about ? I don`t want to go to JW.org myself .

  Well said zeb , an educated person can pay his own way in life and not end up being a burden in society ,a sponger , or a bludger depending on the society they condemn for their livelihood like so many J.W.~s

  JW are maybe the only organization / society where education is aggravating circumstance, and where less education leads to more prospect and responsibility.
  
  At the same time that hypocrites in JW HQ cry for experts in all fields (especially for legal experts - xxx $ per hour) and beg for their free services....

  They want to either keep young ones impoverished so they can't leave their JW parents home, they know once someone gets a university education, they can earn their own living away from the Borg. They also have acquired critical thinking skills, which the Borg is deathly afraid of.

  The higher ups in the Org are right to fear people going to college. The knowledge and critical thinking skills I gained in college are what helped me smell the bullshit and then make the plans to leave.

  From personal experience...denied my college education due to the religion...and later in life getting my bachelor's in accounting and finance, starting a master's program, but unable to put the time or $$ into it ....I derived a great sense of self worth that was always squelched growing up and sticking to that religion for way too long in my adult life. The personal satisfaction and joy participating with intellectual peers and challenging myself to do my best....and ending with a 3.95 gpa did more for me as a person than decades of struggling brainlessly and hopelessly stuck in a go nowhere hamster wheel. That religion is disaster. People should pursue their talents and receive an education that brings out their personal best. I could go on and on ....this particular hatred of education has always been a sore spot with me and always will be.

  This other thought: Once the JDub while or after attending college/university awakes up and gets good/decent employment, he/she/they will not feel any obligation to donate to WT. They will see the scam that this corporation-disguised-as a religion is conducting and leave them flat for good!

  To be fair, they are actually worshipping a Bronze Age deity with a belief system that transitioned into the early Iron Age.

  It would not surprise me if another reason the religion is against college/careers is so that the desperate JWs can work for brothers with businesses for low wages or chump change as some might put it.

  This would not surprise me at all.

  While I think it’s a great idea that brothers with businesses should employ fired bethelites, any young person in the religion should get their education so they don’t HAVE to be in such a pitiable situation.
