I have a robot that goes wherever I go, saying "DANGER, DANGER!!" whenever someone weird approaches. It worked for Will Robinson, and it works for me.

I'm such a wise guy.
Anyway, it's a little of both for me. I will take the opins of others into consideration, but I'll form my own opins too.

My friends' opinion on someone else doesn't usually hold ground, unless this person I'm being warned about has done something that absolutely disgusts me (ie rape).
I usually like to find out for myself if this person is decent. If he/she rubs me the wrong way, I don't allow them into my life.

It's like with anything else: get information from all quarters, and then make up your own mind. Remember that some people's opinions are worth a lot more than others', so screen those opinions carefully and take all of them with a big grain of salt.

I don't have any friends . Personally tho I never let anyones opinion cloud my judgement .

To me the smartest people stay friends and be appropriately cautious until they can make up their own mind.
This combines the least harm with a provision for being unaffected by unfounded rumor.

Was this supposed to make me feel bad? It did, but that's life right? We all need reality checks. . you mean someone one this board doesn't like me? Damn (Especially since no one on this board has met me). . . :
Stinky, if I had listened to some of my friends, I wouldn't call you "friend" today. I think I made the right decision. If not, I will sincerely apologize to my other friends for not listening to them.
I still stand by my comments. If I have several friends warn me about someone, I will beware. I take friendship very seriously. I do not throw the word around. Most people I know, even for a while are "acquaintances", less intimate than friends. So if a friend, someone who has earned my trust over time, finds it necessary to caution me, I listen and I will be very cautious.
Thanks for all the comments peeps!

(((Stinky))) I like you, although I've never met you - but I can't wait till that happens!!!!
Of course I value my friends input as to others, or else they wouldn't be my friends. I know they're just "watching my back" and if they have valid reasons for their opinions, then of course it holds water. If its a matter of their own imperfections (i.e. jealousy or something) then I give that less weight.
It all depends on your definition of "friendship" in my eyes. If you're just taking info from someone you really haven't gotten a chance to personally know, but who you sort of like on the boards - that's totally wrong. There are a few "whacko's" amongst our midst that wish nothing more than to cause dissension & empower themselves somehow at the ability to tear down others.
Probably didn't make sense what I said, and I'll admit to being a "whacko" (although I have NO evil intentions).
