Wahooo!! Can't wait to vote the corrupt politicans OUT!! By the way, also today, a judge in Sacramento ORDERED Cruz Bustamonte, (the Lt. Gov. running in case Davis gets booted) to take out of his campaign coffers over $3 million he illegally put in from the Indian Gaming community. OUCH! Can't wait until these crooks get run out on a rail. (I'm filling out my practice ballot as we speak....hehe)

Okay, I'm generally a liberal, although I don't feel bound by party lines. But I have to say that the behavior of California "liberals" has been a disgrace.
First of all, they called the recall 'an assault on democracy'. Now, you can argue about the voting formulas for selecting a new candidate (I think the current system is ridiculous), but to claim that the recall itself is an assault on democracy is ridiculous. How can a free election, called for by the people, be an assault on democracy?
Secondly, there's this punch-card business. Now, the California Attorney General has already agreed that the system needs to be changed. He also agreed to a deadline for changing it: next March. But the anti-recall people are saying that the system is so bad, that it can't be used for even one more election. If it's that bad, all the elections of the last 40 years should be invalidated... including the election of Davis.
But of course, if the election of Davis were invalidated, then there would have to be a new election. But they already claimed that's an assault on democracy!
So if they don't want to assault democracy, they better shut up and stop complaining about punch-card voting.

Oh how I remember the Cow Palace too well!
I am voting for Arnold. Anyone who can make something of themselves where they couldn't even speak the language at all, and now is worth between 300 and 800 million has obviously done something right.
I like McClintock, but he just doesn't have enough votes. I will be very disappointed in him if he doesn't pull out within one week.
My wife Caligirl is also voting for Arnold.

Double edge, I heard that too but I heard that the response from Cruz's camp was "it's already spent." That should turn out interesting.
I wish I was still in California. I'd vote for Arnold twice. Any time some guy comes in who doensn't need to sell his soul to the special interests to get into office and doesn't give a damn about pissing people off in his own party, that guy's got my vote. Making career politicians shake in their boots and fear for their jobs is a good thing, it keeps 'em honest. Or at least a little less vile.
Cow Palace hu? I remember World Groove '94 there. Well, actually I remember some cool lights, some warm flesh, and the lead singer from DeLight looking hotter than Death Valley.

i think that mcclintock is the best canidate for the job. only problem is that he doesn't have the name recognition that arnold does. i don't want to throw my vote away and i don't want to vote for someone i don't believe will be the best person for the job. as oct. 7th draws closer i will have to make up my mind..............

Jim you can't be too left wing for California. You used to live in SF? I live next door, Pacifica.
OMG Stacy! I lived in Pacifica, too! Used to live right around the corner from Safeway. Moved to the east coast in April (long, unpleasant story - if you want the details, I'll give you the thread). How much more of Pacifica has fallen over the cliff? I'll bet we saw each other & never realized we were both exJWs!
On another topic: The Cow Palace......
Did you guys ever see us doing our "street work" out in front of the Cow Palace? There are photos at: http://www.gayxjw.org/streetwork.html

And Bustamonte showed the judge his middle finger and went ahead and spent the money anyway. Its likely criminal charges are going to be filed, god my state is an f**kin zoo.

Jim I live just in the back of Park Pacifica. Back of Linda Mar Valley. Hard to have missed each other in this place. Only one road in or out. I love hiking and riding my mountain bike up Mt. Montara. Did you live by the safeway in front of Linda Mar?
I live at Taco Bell on the beach.
