John 1:3 states in the NWT, "All things came into existence through him, and apart from him (the Word, or Jesus) not even one thing came into existence."
The WT states apart from him one thing came into existence, that is, Jesus the first created being.
Is there an explanation for this apparent contradiction?

Yes. The bible is nonsense, rife with contradictions.
I always thought the second part was just a reiteration of the first part only conversely.
Whatever it means if a verse sounds like it could read two ways and one of those ways reads even a wee bit trinity-ish the WT ignores the alternatve interpretation.
One explanation is that the WT is wrong about Jesus being a created being.

Just another case of the Bible contradicting the Watchtower.
"For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him."

The NWT adds "other" twice in brackets in this passage.
In revelation it speaks about jesus being the alpha and omega. So the way I take that is that he was never the first born or created. And the jw bible was altered at john 1:1 to facilitate their erroneous teaching.
The New Testament writers were promoting Jesus as the new god others were promoting him as part of a trinity. This is why there is contradictions about who he is. In most pantheons back then the creator god or father god wasn't necessarily the all powerful god that was to be worshipped.
The whole gospel of John was written later with a view to validate the Holy Mass celebration of the Church, hence we find elaborate explanation about 'this is my flesh and blood ...." which would not have been missed by other gospel writers who wrote earlier to John. Internal evidence too suggests that gospel is a later invention. For example, For example, Jesus did not say what is reportedly said in John 3:13 where it says he ascended into heaven at the very start of his ministry (which brings the question: then who did all the works attributed to Jesus?); and it follows, if John 3:13 is based on imagination then following verses such as John 3:16 on which the main purpose of Jesus' coming on to earth is built upon is also imaginary!]
If the whole gospel is based on imagination, then John 1:3 too would lack meaning.
Gen.3:22 , " here the man has become like one of us " obviously he is either talking to his peers,his equals .?
Or was he talking to other members of the Trinity .?
If he was talking to the word or logos he is putting them or him on the same level as himself as being equal to him.?
