Yeah--really not EAGERLY awaiting this sitcom.

I mean, first was Friends. Didn't the U.K. create coupling to be a wacky sexy more risky version of Friends? And now, we are taking your version Friends and putting it on the same Network as Friends? *scratches head*

I dunno--I love the U.K. version, and I dunno how this is going to work--or that I care to find out.

The British show got great reviews....the US show is getting scathing reviews.....too many references to sex and body parts. Why that won't work, I cannot figure out...

    I'll still watch it, though.

Hmm, the Jane actress doesn't look neurotic enough.

I've noticed at least two local stations have banned it altogether.

    It's not that rude.

BBC America is showing Coupling to death at the moment! It's OK, but it's not the funniest show I've ever seen. I've always been curious about why the US make their own versions of british sitcoms - here are the ones I know, can you think of any more?

    UK Sitcoms > US Sitcoms
“Steptoe and Son” became “Sandford and Son” (Original better)
“One Foot in the Grave” became “Cosby” (Original Better)
“Man about the House” became “Threes Company” (Copy better)
“Till Death Us Do Part” became “All in the Family” (Both equally excellent)
‘Men Behaving Badly” became “It's a Man's World” (Never seen copy so can’t judge)

    US Sitcoms > UK Sitcoms

“The Golden Girls” became “The Brighton Belles” (Original much better)
“Who’s the boss” became “The Upper Hand” (Original better)

I quite liked Coupling, sort of slow quirky humour.

I do cringe at some of these remakes though - they seem to take all the spirit out of them (just compare the original "Men bahaving badly" to the politically correct sanitised effort)

I loathe television! Unless of course it's a cartoon.

Most television does nothing more than dull the intelligence of people with their insipid recycling of plots and dialogue. Bah!

I hardly ever watch television, and I can't remember the last time I saw a sitcom. The only things I watch with any regularity are hockey and the Simpsons. I enjoy some doccumentaries too.

Why watch the american version? (Blech)

Just watch BBC America, they show it on there. Not hilarious, but an amusing show.

Aztec, you like my show, huh?
