August 14th 2019 marks the date that New York State will allow civil litigation for child sex abuse claims against all institutions and individuals for a period of one year, regardless of how long the abuse has occurred.
I'm curious how this will play for WT.

Wow. And they'll save a ton of ice cream money on flights since it's right there in their home town state!
I hope California follows suit. NV usually legislates a lot of what California does and this would be great but those states like Cali and NY are swarming with victims.
Is there an effort being made to let JWs & ex-JWs in NY know about this?
Seems likely that there would be hundreds if not thousands of potential new cases.
Could it be this change was the reason for the recent WT study regarding child abuse, as an attempt to appear more proactive so as to reduce liability?
The WTS can be quite arrogant about Caesar's laws affecting them. They think their god is on their side and will make a way out.
The WTS often uses Psalm 94:20-23 to show that using secular laws again the WTS is expected but will not prevail.

The nations have attempted to suppress Jehovah’s witnesses with an iron fist and crush them by mischief framed by law. (Ps. 94:20) They have overcome and completely defeated such fiendish persecution in many countries. Volumes would be required to describe the modern persecution of Jehovah’s witnesses. It surpasses anything that has been recorded concerning the persecution of any minority for conscience’ sake.

I wonder if the WTS will try to twist any angst against the Org for this as the start of the GT? That would be a mind-f@ck of a twist.

We are being prosecuted for the harboring of sickos and perverts, and for protecting our NAME while innocent kids are lambasted for not keeping quiet while they were molested.
