Especially with the models they have now coming out more. There is one that will climb stairs and one that actually elevates to reach high places.

Many of my friends with disablities don't think of themselves as disabled. These are tools to conquering limitations.

Nice wheels, Lady Lee! Very nice! I hope that you don't have to pay for it all yourself! I also hope that you have a way to get out in the community and see people / go for coffee / etc!

We have a van and I can walk short distances. I only need the chair for longer walks - like around the grocery store and in the mall. For now this will do me just fine. I haven't stopped going out. I just make sure where I am going is not far from the van. If I overdo it at all I pay for it dearly later with a lot of pain (like yesterday when I was out for only 1 hour and walking for less than half of that)

The wheels (free from the government here) should definitely save my feet and let me get a bit further from the van

Xan if things don't improve I want one of these (see below). It is a scooter called the Go-Go. I will have to buy this but it is only $1000 compared with the above models that be $2 - 4,000.
