It certainly is heartening to share with someone the truth about "The Troof" and see those seeds grow and bear fruit. I like to think that we, on our own, can do nothing much and so someone leaving the borg is the result of them having what Ray Franz terms a "Crisis of Conscience". It's not possible for someone to leave without undergoing much heartache, or as the saying goes "No gain without pain". We can see that in your friend's case. It was true of all of us at the Canberra gathering wasn't it? A bit like the pain of childbirth that is soon forgotten when the beauty of what has been produced is seen.
We spent the day yesterady listening to yet another heart-wrenching experience on the south coast. We talked for hours with so many tears. Absolutely horrendous!! It's hard to imagine the heartlessness of a system like the borg has produced in Australia. As for the elders concerned......well, may God forgive them.
Happily, for those we met with their faith has actually been strengthened, faith not in an organisation but in Christ himself.
