I drove back from an assembly in 1979 (Montreal, Quebec to Fredericton, NB.) and we listened to the Book of Acts on tape in the car.
I was so damn glad Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" was in the dashboard.

I actually found the bible tapes useful -- improved my pronunciation and help me read better in public which is useful for my job -- so yes I did not have too much of a problem with them
I thought they sucked.
I used to go and stay at some friends house in the country about 30mins drive from the hall and they used to play them in the car. I always hated them and switched the tapes at any oppurtunity. "Isn't it a shame we've forgotten them and so will have to listen to something else...."
