Mouthy, I would love to meet you....just not at an ex-JW, now we are born again rally. I would prefer to meet you (and every other poster) at an *ex-JW, now we are at an Apostafest party*....let's just all have fun!

Seriously, my dad got remarried to a lady who became *born again* and wouldn't you know it? She picked a *doomsday* sect....she is sure armageddon is around the corner....and she is not a JW!! It is freaky! All she does is tell her two sons they need to accept Jesus and they will be saved....

Anyway, you are a sweetheart and I did not mean to hurt your feelings. I am sorry!

I'm not a christian & I am easily annoyed with anyone trying to push their stuff on me, but I have attended this thing the past 2 years & I must say, they were the most well adjusted, least pushy christians I have ever encountered. You can go dressed as yourself & there is no caste system, no disapproving "looks" or anyone urging you to become "born again". No stupdity involved. No begging for money, none of it. I do believe I've seen a few homosexual coules there before, but I never asked :) I would recommend it to anyone, & Mouthy alone is worth the drive!

I remember when I was a christian when these events came around and wished I could be there and meet many prominent people from within the Organisation who had found the real Jesus.

I think these events are great for believers and would probably be a good experience for non-believers, as the worship part would not be the only intresting thing. Meeting and talking to others after and before would be fun.

For myself.....a good old aposafest would be more fitting, but I thank Randy for making the offer to those who choose to go. Thanks Randy.

    Thanks Randy.

Hamas, I am a "born again". I also drink beer, dance, party, make big assed mistakes,

screw up, study world religion, keep an open mind, doubt, search, and accept other philosophy.

I also have tattoos, don't force my beliefs on others, in fact, seldom talk about it. I do not feel it is my duty to convert others to my way of thinking.

Are you certain that you don't have "born agains" and fundamentalist confused?

This is coming from a pro choice, seperation of church and state, socially liberal republican, btw.

People do not all fit into niches, dear.

If I recall correctly, I believe there used to be a poster here with the ID bornoncewasenough, or something similar. Always brought a smile to me.

cheeses - with no desire to be reborn, or to associate with them (as fine a people as they may be). Now has that got my arse covered?

Yes, many born-agains are annoying, believe me having pastored for several years with Foursquare denomiation after leaving the dubs, I've seen everything in the circus, from fake deliverances to carny techniques, and a LOT of fanatics, in a lot of different kinds of churches (I'm not dogging Foursquare, just the fanatics). In our church we served Margaritas after the Sunday evening service and the "younger crowd" went out dancing locally. We often visited other churches as a group as well, to test them on the "cultic" scale. :-))

However, very few of these are former cult members. About 95% of all ex-JWs I know who are born again are hard to detect in conversation until they know you. Making a fool of yourself once by being in a cult has a tendency to mellow you out. In the cases where it does not, they need to have an intervention. :-))
