You know we took our baby at less than two weeks of age to a DC...she puked constantly....guess she was trying to tell me something.

I like the idea of a Sunday school arrangement which most religions use much more than the dub idea of making children listen to the WT which even the adults don't understand.

JW parents wouldn't be able to bring their children to the hall for the first time if they were 12 or 13. I understand that they want to bring them young, but newborns, NEVER.

    Hi JH,

I think Hamas nailed it. As a witness or probably any other religious group.......parents bring their offspring. Offspring in almost all faiths, are to be subjected to it's influence from birth. From a religious perspective, .....I would also bring my child from birth on.(after it was cleaned up that is) Besides.......who's gonna watch the little farts anywho?

shotgun - I agree with you. My 9 year old sister enjoyed the bible school at the local church and got allot more out of it. The JW's are just plain cruel to make children succumb to that awful indoctrination. My mom was councelled by elder's wives telling her not to bring books or crayons for my brother and I growing up. She told them to mind their own business!

    I am with Hamas

as a witness as early as you can

now I also would say never

what bugged me even when I was a really devoted jw is when tiny, tiny babies are brought out in service. I remember one elder who used to bring a few week old child door to door on an unbearable hot and muggy morning. Is this not child abuse?

You can tell I don't have children. If you don't bring them, then you have to find a babysitter or stay home.

I have seen non-JWs bring little babies:

    movies

    restaurants

    grocery shopping

    hairdresser

    library

    work

    sports events

So why not to the KH?

I was told children should start going to the KH as soon as they are in their mothers womb.

I remember one of the first things that I asked my bible study teacher when she invited me to go to the KH. Do you have a nursery? She said no and we never will because we want the children to learn just like the adults. Well, even as I was a jw I thought it was stupid to have the kids with the adults, crying and being restless. If they wanted the children to learn why didn't they have a sister teaching them bible stories at the kh? Oh yeah, almost forgot then they wouldn't have the sister in the audience listening to all that crap from the platform and besides it's the parents responsibility to teach the children. I feel so guilty now when I think how I used to take my children out and spank them for not being still. Just makes me sick thinking of that again. This still bothers me to this day. What was I thinking?

I think it is horrible taking children in field service not only is it dangerous but taking them out in heat, cold and rain to work the streets for the society...child labor!!! I knew a sister who would take her child out and he would turn beat red and throw up because of the heat. How sad is that?

My aunt dragged my little cousin (when he was about 4 years old) to the KH or some stupid assembly when he would be deathly sick and running a fever! That is cruel.

Blondie, you pointed out some istances that I think, doesn`t make much sense. There are things that you can not help other can be done. To force children and even worst babys,in some situations like a must for YOUR belive this is cruel and abusive system. You can ,as I can see from the forum itself, how many end it up, with great resentments toward not only the org.but mostly toward they own parents. If comonsense is practised,if we let our children want it or not ,maybe the effects could be more positive in a democatic ways. We all have made lots of mistake, but to contine to rub on a sleepery surface that in inconceiveble. The imposition of any thing at all have never been successefull.
