In a personal discussion with an elder, I was told that BigJ would resurrect the (innocent) people that he himself killed like the first born of Egyptians, 70K killed due to Davids Census and so on.

Yes, And the ones like Sodom and Gomorroh wouldn't.

Yes, the Bible has several incidents where the almighty becomes a Raving maniac. How come this is possible if he is the Epitome of love ? Losing patience and becoming angry on petty things are the worst of imperfections and yet the Almighty very often Succumbs to it.

Poor guy . I think there are no Anger Management classes in Heaven.

How dare you criticize God! Even though you are created "in His Likeness," your sense of right and wrong is warped by this old system of things and inherited imperfection. Those were different times. God knows the heart. His wisdom is far surpassing to ours, so we should just keep our opinions to ourselves.

I have often wondered about and commented to my many jw friends and family about how jehober's bloodthirsty nature. Why was it necessary for hundreds of thousands of sheep and cattle to be slaughtered during a 7 day period when Solomon inaugurated the temple?

Of course we all know that this account is an extreme exaggeration , just like good old Solomon having 1,000 wives/concubines, but it goes to the core of why such an account is contained in the bible. Millions of gallons of blood poured out just to inaugurate a f**cking building that jehober later allowed to be destroyed?

    just saying!

GOD: Adam you will be a screw up, you and EVE. "I know what's in your heart" and if I don't get rid of you two and create another, the world will go to sh---t. Sorry buddy I know what's in your heart and it stinks..

I always thought Lot was a disgusting example. He did not support his wife, he was willing to exchange his daughters for favors with the angels, and he eventually impregnated these same daughters. In addition, he considered living in a cave as an acceptable lifestyle.

Solomon was set as an example of wisdom. If he was so smart, why could he not figure out that his lifestyle was not a sustainable? A person cannot expect that burdening the population with excess taxes to support a luxurious lifestyle - while at the same time fathering a boatload of children - is a sustainable economic model.

Sorry for the repeated posts - but this is an interesting topic. How can it be OK for Elisha to call down bears to maul 42 children for calling him "baldy?"

EA, I have commented on this on previous threads. To sum it up, God not only requires justice but is also the avenger of his people, I for one, when I am being harassed, God can do whatever it takes to bring me relief. You don't have to like it or think vengeance is just, too bad.
