    Has God preserved His word today? Many people attack, doubt and fault God's word. Yet God has made several promises in His word.

    He promised to preserve His word unto EVERY Generation,
    He promised that EVERY word would be truth,
    He promised that we can rely and depend on His every word.

    Satan wants nothing more than to dismiss, and cast doubt on God's word... so the question today is... Do we have God's preserved word today? Before commenting, please watch the video.

    What word are you referring to?

    The book of Mormon? The Koran? The Catholic bible? The Protestant bible? The Ethiopian canon?

    If God preserved his word, why is there no concrete way of knowing which canon is the correct one? Why aren't any "originals" in existence? Why are the oldest manuscripts from the 4th century (Sinaitic and Vatican) and yet even those differ from each other?

    Even the Watchtower admits (albeit indirectly)that the bible is not trustworthy or free from error as they have made changes to passages such as :

    John 7:53-8:11;

    Mark 16: 9-till end of chap.

    1 John 5:7,

    John 1:1;

    Hebrews 1:6 and many others.

    "God" hasn't been able to produce a book free from errors, spurious passages, and not even a clear canon to believe in. God wasn't able to protect his word from errors and contamination. This speaks volumes about god's interest in humans to be saved and to be known by him.

    Religion was invented for people who cannot accept the fact that we are alone in the universe and refuse to accept that we will someday return to inexistence.

    Evidently, God (at least the one to which you refer) favors white European ancestry since he didn't bother to preserve His Word for Asians, Africans, etc. It's just the white Anglo population of the world that has it.

    There are more variations (errors) among bible manuscripts than there are verses in the bible - this is NOT hyperbole.

    Why could god not preserve the original manuscripts?

    If the bible is god's word why does it promote ethics that offend the consciences of every post-enlightenment human.

    If the bible is god's word why does it contain gospels and epistles that fraudulently claim to be written by apostles?

    If the bible is god's word why does it contain irreconcilable contradictions?

    Why does it contain scientific errors?

    We could go on ... and on...

    I'm thinking Cumbernauld.

    Even if he actually preserved his word today, we cannot deny the fact that his « word » is a total mess.

    If he had a message to convey to us, he did the worst job. The Bible is a gigantic mess, talking about useless bizarre stories, saying something and its contrary and most of all being totally open to all kinds of interpretations about its actual meaning.

    What kind of father would communicate in such a poor way with his children and be proud of it ?

    What kind of father would destroy his children because they couldn’t solve his absurde and incomprehensible riddle ?

    The bible is just written textual reference to certain ancients expressing their mythical ideologies and beliefs.

    Like other ancient civilizations they envisioned god(s) out the ignorance they endured of the world in which they lived.

    The bible is full of fictional mythological Bullshit and why shouldn't it be it was written thousands of years ago by ignorant uneducated, unacknowledged ancients.

    Human ignorance is an indefensible fact.

    Absolutely not. Even if you assume that the protestant canon we now have is the correct one that God intended (he has never personally made known to anyone which canon he endorses), we have no way of knowing what the original words of the text actually were, so how can it be said that he preserved "every word"? As Cofty mentioned there are more textual variations in the text of existing manuscripts than there are words in the whole bible! We do not have the originals, we only have faulty copies of copies of copies. There is massive amounts of evidence that scribes poorly copied the text or deliberately changed it for theological reasons (read a few books by Bart Ehrman), to such a degree that it is impossible to reconstruct exactly what the original text said with any certainty.

    So the simple answer is no, God did not preserve the text, and broke all three of the promises you outlined.
