This good news of the kingdom

Growing up around the faith, Whenever I heard something taught, I'd always think there is a different way of looking at that, probably better.

We always hear "This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached... " Matt 24:14.

So I think, is there more to it than preaching the kingdom?

Luke 17:21 the KJV and ASV says "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you", (which is where they get the wrong belief that the kingdom is in their hearts) but many other bibles including the NWT say "nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you"

What was in the midst of them was Jesus. So the Kingdom of God was also another way of saying it's king, Jesus.

So, in Matt 24:14 "This good news of the Kingdom" could also mean the king of that kingdom. Jesus would be preached in all the inhabited earth.

Which is what Act 1:8 in the NLT says "And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”"

The Witnesses are preaching about the Kingdom when they should be preaching about the King.

But if you write to the GB and tell them that, you will be brought before a committee. Sad.

This is a good post, but it is hard to figure out a good response. I want to say if the "spirit" of Jesus is in our midst, then I want to believe that is an empathy that has developed from years, maybe decades of trying to figure out how to work "the Golden Rule" properly.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am not always empathic. I should be more empathic, but as a woman this makes me a vulnerable target for exploitation. I guess it is safer to be empathic on line, as long as a person doesn't fall for scammers of so many kinds- romance scammers, prosperity gospel scammers, financial scammers, etc. Scams everywhere.

Rattigan350 what if people anonymously write the letter to the GB?

@ Rattigan350: Your view about the kingdom referring to Christ & his rulership as opposed to a domain, is correct.
    From Strong's & Vine's:
Βασιλεία (basileia) Royal power, kingship, dominion, rule, not to be confused with an actual kingdom, but rather, the right or authority to rule over a kingdom, of the royal power of Jesus as the triumphant Messiah, used in the N.T. to refer to the reign of the Messiah.

In Rev 1:6; 5:10, the most authentic mss. have the word basileia, "kingdom," instead of the plural of basileus, AV, "kings," RV, "a kingdom (to be priests)," and "a kingdom” (and priests).

Compare the latter reference with the NWT interpretation of Revelation 5:10. (kings!)

@ Disillusioned JW: The Service Committee at JW Branches will automatically bin any anonymous letters which highlight "flaws" in a JW dogma.

On the other hand, (as in my case) if you give your details you will probably eventually receive a literature-based reply - coupled with a letter to your COBE to alert him that you probably merit "encouragement with your weakness." In other words, keep you monitored as a potential troublemaker/apostate.

Another way to look at it is Jesus preached about the kingdom of the heavens. And the apostles preached about the good news of the Christ which through his life death and resurrection, mankind could be reconciled to god and gain everlasting life. The JW's preach a different good news of the kingdom

The divinity of Jesus was invented after his death if he even existed. When Jesus says "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you," he meant it. Jesus never said, "I am the son of God." What Jesus said in plain English is "I am divine," and he continued "Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods"'?"

"This Good news of The Kingdom" has never ever been preached in all the Earth and never ever will be .

Billions of people in many parts of the earth have never ever heard of it and never will.

After 2000 years of Christianity and it`s nowhere near ever being fulfilled as a prophecy ,it should be obvious even to blind Freddy .

And if GOD never foresaw this ,then what does that say about GOD ?

Smiddy re the Good News I'm not sure how you can categorically say it never will be preached in all the Earth or that there are billions of people who have never heard it now.

The Gospel has been preached all across Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Middle and Far East . There are Christians in all those places .

    Boogerman,

You are right. They will not listen to correction. But this is going to cost them very dearly because of the recent world development.

The West and NATO seem to have misjudged Putin who is all set to redeem his lost Empire because of Gorbachev who acted in the interest of the West. This would mean, at some point in time, US has to intervene to stop Russia’s advance. But this would mean end of US world power status, according to Nostradamus predictions.

This will be a shame to JWs too who all along were saying it is North King (Russia) that is going to meet with end, not South King (US-led forces). JWs took the Bible prophecy literally North and South as geographically. But Bible was using those terms to depict two contrasting ideologies.
