Anyone ever remember this council? Whenever you're bringing an item to the meeting to give to someone else, and it's not THEOCRATIC, you should deliver the item in a bag. I found this to be the most rediculous thing I ever heard. Sometimes things don't require a bag. I guess this council was given so noone would be distracted because of the item. I should have told some people to put their heads in a bag because I found them distracting.

I never heard this counsel. But it sounds like it might have originated by someone (an elder?) who didn't like the idea that personal things like gifts were being passed around in the Kingdom Hall. So, it the items were in a bag, it would be inconspicuous to the others. Thus, it would not "draw attention away" from the purpose of being at the Kingdom Hall.

Yes, it is ridiculous. But that was and is the mentality of many elders.

OMG! I soooo remember this going on at the KH!!! Always those plastic grocery bags with god knows what in them (I'm now thinking it was most likely porn or alcohol) Thanks for the laugh I so needed it right now

I "find" this to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard all day! LOL I have thankfully never been a JW, but I have a good friend that still is a JW.... I found out on this board that woman are not allowed to prey in public unless their head is covered.... Not sure which is more ridiculous.
