taping a child to the seat???? WTF?

    Yes it is child abuse.

It is disrespectful, shames the child in front of peers, exerts physical force on the child, and sends the child the message that they are bad, unruly, and have to power.

Although it seems normal for most of us, she is accustomed to shut up whenever she sees child violence.

    Big Tex,

Is the teacher allowed to bring in whomever she wants without the school's knowledge?

Volunteers have to take a Tuberculosis test. Volunteers register with the Board of Education, and principals assign them to wherever s/he chooses to send them to.

Now I realize that it is mentioned as a curiousity as Jehovah's Witnesses are viewed by most people as an oddball group of people.

Actually, the way I read the article, her religion is mentioned to show that she was a good person.

    Odrade,

but think about for a minute, being bound against your will, so you can't move, by someone much larger than yourself, and you must wait until they decide to let you out.

What about fear of being shunned by your own family if you decide to move out of the much larger Watchtower Corporation?

What really makes me sick is when I would see a child about 6 months getting restless in his carseat. So the parent would pick him up and go the bathroom and beat the daylights out of his little tiny butt.

That brought memories. My ex-wife, a pioneer at the time, hit our daughter, then only nine months old. Not extremely hard, but enough for her to cry and scream in pain. I told her that not only it was wrong to hit children, but a child her age made no sense to since she would not understand why she was being hit and had a very small vocabulary. She said she understood enough. She had arrived six months before from Guadalajara, Mexico, but had a vocabulary of about 150 words in English. I told her that I would speak to her in English only for three days. At the end of three days, she became so enraged that she refused to hear any English at home for FOUR YEARS. I wish I would have understood the fine points of submission better at the time!

Message: Please review attached media report and reply as a matter of urgency. Question: can we use this method at meetings?

    Dear Theodore Jaracz,

Your question has already being brought at our meetings in the GB. We have found it really unnecessary as we would be forced to spend the money on tapes. This money could be better suited for buying chandeliers badly needed in Crooklin. We know that fear of shunning keeps people quiet better than tape, and the little ones can be quieted quickly in the toilets by the swift use of the rod.

    HadEnuf,

which many times includes physical punishment bordering on ABUSE!

You mean to tell me these children are ONLY borderly being abused by their mom?s? (I never saw a child being taken to the washroom screaming with terror by their fathers).

When one of the elders told me that I should discipline (read between the lines ?beat up?) my children instead of taking them outside to walk it off during meetings, I told him that it was unnatural for two and five-year old children to sit still for a long time, and that if I ever saw a parent hit a child, I would call the police. My privileges stopped.

    Pamkw,

My son is 11, and right now not in school because the teacher is mean and verbally abusive. She even went so far as to call him a name in front of his case manager.

Face the truth. Does your son have a history of being abusive himself? If not, you should see the principal, then the District Superintendent, and then a lawyer. Teachers don?t have the last word.

Because she had him arrested, I lost my job when I went to get him.

Consider yourself lucky to be leaving a job where they don?t back you up in a family emergency. I would see my legal options about the job too.
