Notty Is the idea that death absolves a person of their sin debt discussed often enough in JW circles that it could make an impression such that an unhinged JW might decide to kill their loved ones in order to "save" them?

Absolutely. As Sea Breeze confirmed there was the horrific tragedy of a DF mother who took her own famillies' lives for fear of them being destroyed at Armageddon if they remained out of the org when it happened.

There's also a hilarious case of a JW family who drank tea containing some type of hallucinogenic and, believing Armageddon had began, kidnapped their neighbours stark naked and supposedly in order to "rescue" them before being apprehended by police!!🤯😂

    @Diogenesister,

On arrival, officers said the group were chanting "Jehovah" and refused to exit the vehicle.
Officers added that the people in the SUV “displayed extreme strength”, were unaffected by pepper spray and did not relent when shot with Tasers.

I wished I could say this was unusual. But, they sound just like my JW family and JW relatives I grew up in. JW's are under some sort of spell.

😳😳😳wow I didn't see that bit! It's actually quite terrifying when you realise how easily their doctrine can lead them down such dark paths....

“…being destroyed at Armageddon if they remained out of the Org when it happened…”

I don’t remember if official WT doctrine ever stated this explicitly, but the second-hand rhetoric absolutely emphasized it… my parents raised me believing it.

What really gets me is when self-styled theologians craft or condone ideology like that and then actually seem surprised when shit like this inevitably goes down.

You wanna yell at them: “WTF did you think was gonna happen???”

"JWs are under some kind of spell."

Mind control is a dangerous, horrible thing.

Its like monkey see monkey do.

    Or what Simon says.

Its almost scary. Its deadly. They will do whatever the gb says. Its like a trance

In the bible, it's called a reprobate mind.

"God gave them over to a reprobate mind" - Romans 1: 28

    1. Not enduring proof or trial

    2. Abandoned in sin; lost to virtue or grace

    3. To abandon to wickedness and eternal destruction.

    4. To abandon to his sentence, without hope of pardon.

Thanks Diogenesister for helping confirm this was a JW family.
