Two weeks ago Corney posted the following info that is on-topic here:
From my admittedly limited understanding of the topic, the GB and their Legal Department was not really attempting to enforce the laws or appeal to the government to do so, or even to take these people to court, but to make them start having to pay legal fees, hire lawyers, and so on, in other words put the muscle on them legally, something that, at least on the surface, the WTS can afford since they have free lawyers, whereas those posting in-house secret documents do not. It was an attempt to scare those posting these docs with legal fees in order to get them to stop leaking the org's secret documents, and to pay for having done so.
However, the GB must be more serious now since they are supposed to have retained a pricey legal firm to advise them here: "Watchtower had to hire Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman, a top firm in the field of copyright law, one of the six best ones nationwide according to The Legal 500 and one of the seven best ones in NY - according to Chambers." (per Corney's post) That would represent a change on their part, if they are forking over big bucks at a time when funds are tight.
Then another legal team is supposed to have undertaken to represent the Electronic Frontier Foundation, YouTube's legal team, "pro bono, namely Garvey Schubert Barer," after the org hit YouTube with a subpoena (again according to Corney's post).
If anyone is keeping up on these things, an inside report would be appreciated by many here.

JWs spend over 2 BILLION HOURS to get their publications in the hands of the public. (attempting to fulfill: "This Good News will be preached in all the inhabited Earth!) Yet, when anyone posts copies of the publications online (to help spread the "Good News"?), WT sues them for doing so.
"It is the will of God that all men should be saved." At this point, the JW literature distribution system has only recruited about 8 million persons (or maybe 1/10th of 1%). You'd think they'd sent flowers to anyone helping them get the "Good News" circulated.
Jesus must be very unhappy with their results.

As representatives of Jehovah's earthly organization they would want to be very careful with what they put in their letters.
In Lloyds video he read out a letter they had sent to him over a year ago threatening legal action if he didn't do all that they were demanding. You can't bully someone or demand that they stop doing something if it is not illegal, they are stepping out of line.
Since he didn't do all that they demanded then they have to proceed with legal action or they prove themselves to be deliberate liars.

The optics would be great! ...locally newsworthy over and over and over..
WT as Goliath and all our friends as mere Davids seeking legal justice through dispersal of vital information warning of charities fraud, failing to report child sexual abuses and destruction of families worldwide by not respecting the rights of freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of association wherever JWs little lunatic theocracy enforces its sick parallel justice system.

The days for a fraudulent mind control organization to win cases in court are really quite numbered due to the expansion of public awareness. This is a last farewell attempt to fight the information age by a bunch of delusional spouting ego maniacs called the Faithful and Discreet Maniacs.
Some might suffer some minor monetary set backs but all is well among the revealers I feel quite sure,, due to the caliber and nature of the information revealed and if used in a court of law as evidence would be self condemning and thrown out of court. I really feel the Governing Body is scraping the bottom of the barrel with regards to legal in house delusional zombies to legally advise them and represent them.
