They had no choice because "The Truth" was hitting them in the ass.
It was easier to hide behind its lies and false teachings back in the day.
Such as a simple task of instructing Congregations to remove old literature for example.
They always had a crutch to support themselves, like well we just recently received new light or we are imperfect too.
Phizzy Fact checking via the Internet is such a wonderful resource.
And the great thing about Watchtower's indoctrination programme™ is that it only takes a JW to catch them out in a blatant lie once and it's game over.
They've taught us that "one drop of poison" makes the whole thing unfit for purpose - so a witness will apply that concept to the lie found written by their own religious leaders!

Probably a subject for a new Thread, but the WT/JW Org has always only changed because they had to, I wonder what changes will be forced upon them by circumstances in the future ?
