    Welcome to the board, Woodland!!!

Well, I will try to explain. You realize the "society" is a business corporation, right?

If you do not believe this, then read their literature closely (much of it is reproduced

    on many websites).

For many years the society has condemned big business and commercialism as satanic, and

wicked, yet they have aligned themselves as a business, and have faught in court to keep

    a religious (non-profit) status.

Most of us here are angry with the business aspect of the wtbts, not the people who are

members on a more local level.

Then anger is not at innocent, well intended members of the society, but at the business

    aspect. The governing body, etc.

If any of us can be of any assistance to you, please ask, we will help you in research,

answer questions, or just listen to your thoughts. Welcome to JWD!!

when it is the people that decide to remain in the organisation?

I'm intrigued by this last part of your question. Are you saying that if people want to stay Jehovah's Witnesses, why be angry at them? I'm a bit unclear by your meaning.

The first part of your question is quite simple. We have all been treated very badly. Why do you ask?

    Hi Woody

My anger resulted partly from the wt's stand against truth, while it claims to be the embodiment of truth on earth.

    Thanks for your replies.

My point is this: I left the JW?s by choice (although given, it wasn?t easy at first). My Mother, Sister, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins (you get the picture) have decided that is what they need in their lives to give them hope and direction. I would never want my Mother to leave the religion as she wouldn?t be able to handle the real world, or the concept, left alone the reality of independent thought.

Don?t get me wrong, it?s not nice when people you have known all your life blank you, but I don?t get angry with the JW?s as a whole, rather I feel sorry for that person as they are obviously very ignorant.

I don?t mean to sound cloying, but I believe we should defeat them with Love, otherwise we lower ourselves to their level.

Many here (including myself) have been lied to, abused, harmed, etc. All in the name of righteousness and Jehovah..only to come to find it is actually the man behind the curtain jerking the strings to the puppet. Anger is a healthy emotion especially when something like this is akin to a spiritual rape.

Being lied to, quite frankly, hurts I'm not as angry as some, more hurt than angry actually.

    Welcome.

I don't think you're giving enough credit to your mother. I thought the same of mine, and I was wrong. And she did give birth to you, didn't she, and look where you are!

I do not believe that the ability to reproduce is a sign of human strength!

Rather, the need for a crutch is a show of weakness!
