So....we get into Plano from NH just before Midnight Tuesday night...found a place by Thursday night and moved into it Friday night. Saturday morning, my husband wakes me up.
"Wow, something wierd just happened, even for me" he laughs....I am groggy, but can see he has a white box in his hand. "this lady came to the door with these donuts...she had a couple of kids with her. She welcomed us to the neighborhood. She said that she wanted to say she was with the Jehovah's Witnesses' but that she had donuts for us so there is no way I would believe that, hahah."
That, was Cruzenheart welcoming us to Texas! When I told my husband who it was, he was very embarrassed because he did not get me out of bed or invite her in. He figured it was perhaps one of our landlord's daughters.
Anywhoo....Nina, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My husband wanted me to tell you he is sorry for not waking me up..if he had been thinking he would have realized who you were and gotten me up and invited you in. We are both very touched and loved the donuts....I hope to thank you in person in the near future.
A standing O for Nina......by the way, all you Texans out there, I picked up a copy of "The Yankee Chick's Survival Guide to Texas" so I think maybe I will be okay hahah.
One funny thing though...a lot of these houses down here look like mini kingdom halls...kind of funny....I am living in one now.
