Jo Plumber accepts everything. If JW.org declares that all jw’s will get a heavenly reward because the rank and file had it wrong, they all will believe it at once.
So 1914 has no relevance now, because they have different things to do: standing with a trolley at the corner of a street.

The doctrines and reasoning behind the dates and how we know we are in the last days are so bizzare, so obviously convoluted and stitched together ..... they know they’d be crazy to repeat them.
This tells me that the GB know full well, that they are selling BS!
I grew up in the JW’s from the 80’s and the 1914 date and the scriptures/prophecies and dates to explain it were discussed regularly. It was embarrassingly nonsensical then...... in an internet age it’s a doctrine that would likely WAKE people up itself alone !
This is of course ignoring that the original doctrine was based on Russell’s pagan beliefs in Pyramidoligy (Wikipedia search it and HIS name comes up) and that the date 1914 correlated with the length of a corridor in the great pyramid.
The Watchtower Corporation created bullshit theology so it could sell literature.
Why didn't the hundreds of other Christian faiths say anything about 1914 ?
Because its going against bible scripture that's why.
They stopped mentioning 1914 on the inside cover of their magazines Watchtower and Awake as to why those magazines were published many years ago so it should be of no surprise that it gets less attention nowadays.
I challenged my brother about the 1914 generation in 1994. He got angry and said we're not serving Jehovah to any date. So I think that's the tactic now, make people feel guilty if they even wonder why it hasn't come yet. If you start to question it you obviously don't love God and you're a bad person.
With all due respect Xanthippe you could then have asked then why did the J.W`s/ G.B.
keep promoting dates going back to the late 1800`s well into the end of the 20th Century whereby the New World should have been ushered in.
All those dates have been well documented here and elsewhere including the WTB&TS own publications .
1874 ,1879,1914,1918,1919,1925,1975 ,2000 , if that does not prove they are false profits I don`t know what else could convince the gullible.
Interesting question in the O.P S2, and I think that for years they have been effectively obfuscating the 1914 Doctrine.
The Fog that covers it in the mind of all JW's comes down to, " I can't remember how to explain it, but it must be true as the G.B say so"
Of course when you point out, as you did in a subsequent Post that : No 1914= no 1919 choosing = the G.B are self-appointed Charlatans, they just shrug it off !
The G.B must be searching for a new date and explanation for their outrageous claim to be Vicars of Christ, but they simply do not know how to do it. Anything they present will be torn apart on the Internet and will wake up more JW's.
It reminds me of a quote from the 9th Doctor about the TARDIS being forgotten:

Stop mentioning 1914 and it'll be forgotten over time.
