Funny how both the Koran and the Bible state women are worth 1/4 that of men. Now which religion is superior? They both treat women like crap! It seems most religions have issues with ethics...

The Koran gives two messages: peace and war. And their teachers argue about which verses came first, and which came later and abrogated the earlier verses.
But what REALLY makes the difference is/are the Hadiths. They are collections of the sayings and actions of Muhammed. There are many Hadiths, and not everyone is familiar with (or accepts) them all, but there are some very prominent ones that are widely accepted.
In the Hadiths, Muhammed is a mix of piety and bloodthirst. He has moments of kindness, but also immense savagery. He also approves of savagery by his followers. The stories in the Hadiths are hair-raising.
So, the problem that is raised for Muslims is that though the Koran is THE VERY WORDS of God (Allah), the interpretation of the words are often learned thru looking at the life of their most holy prophet in the Hadith(s). It is quite a struggle for the peace-loving Muslims to reconcile this; it takes some deliberate and focused reading, I guess, to ignore Muhammed's fine example.
Rather like saying that you follow the Bible, but the real teachings come from the (current) WT.

jwbot, I know it takes 2 women to = 1 man's testimony in Islam, so it takes 4 women to give testimony as opposed to 2 men in Islamic court. And I know 1 man can have 4 wives at any given time (some of them keep a rolling admissions!). Is this what you meant?
Wondering where the 1/4 amount comes for women in the Bible, though?

Islam is just like any other religion, peaceful at first but has been twisted and manipulated by religious rulers and leaders for their own benefit.
It is not the Quran that teaches hate, it is these religious nuts. Just as the nuts in Christendom do. But these are the exact reasons as to why it's all rubbish... because if God really is all knowing, he would forsee how these books would curse mankind. He would never have allowed them to get into mankinds hands.
Quran, Bible and every other religious book... its all useless. It's maybe a bit harsh, but what this world needs is a good old fashioned religious book burning session.
Religion is the source of ALL evil.
