This is the latest "Test The Nation" intelligence test. It requires no general knowledge, so anyone who can speak English can give it a go: http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/iq/

There is a section that asks what city you live near to, if you're American it's Bristol and you're in the South West!!

Give it a go, but be warned, it will stretch you. Have your headache tablets at the ready.

I'll tell you my score later.

I'm not telling you what I got cause I was trying to convert stuff in my head and got really confused. Besides, I don't need a test to determine my intelligence or my worth. I said I was from Scotland though. Hehe!

I did great on the spatial, math and memory parts but got all confuddled on the language parts. Typical moi.

    Well, i only got 110.

But, to be fair...i took a normal IQ test and was 133.

All those British Measurements and currency were messing w/ me.

    130.

    Is that a lot?

Course I forgot to record the actual scores (how smart is that?). I think they were as follows:

    Language: 10/12

    Memory 10/12

    Logic 19/22

    Numbers 12/12

    Perception 10/12

    Numbers 8/12
    Perception 9/12

I'll turn the TV down next time ...

Okay now I feel really bad cause I barely got 100. I just couldn't do the conversion with the litres and the pounds and all those weird symbols and words just distracted me. On most IQ tests I get between 125 and 140 so there.

Yes Expat, but we all knew you were smarter than average anyway.

That was fun. I waited too long and didn't answer on a couple of the questions. Doh!

this test was definitely for u brits, all those conversions, and they timed it! I did better than i expected considering the conversions and somewhat different use of language terms.

One question... is the zero on the UK phone in the same place as in the USA? (The middle of the bottom row.)

And you guys...don't worry about the UK units...they weren't important. Just ignore them or substitute a unit you're familiar with. Like the question dealing with pence...just use penny. Or the one dealing with liters... you could use cups and it wouldn't matter. 1/6x + 1/3x = 1/2x.... x can be liter, cup, or whatever.
