What Is The Foundation Of Faith Belonging To a Jehovah's Witness?

When a would-be apostate challenges a Witness, the result is oftentimes, that the JW will say,"I have my faith and you won't be able to shake it". It is because a Witness is programmed not to think. They are in the box and are used to being mentally and spiritually confined. Their foundation is like quicksand. Before they know it, they're already sinking.

Interesting question min.....I used to wonder the same thing when I was a very active JW. I wondered why other non-dub Christian friends of mine seemed to have this special relationship with God that I didn't. I wondered how they could find such peace and strength in their "faith" when I just KNEW they were part of Satan's world - I was a JW and knew the "truth", I was supposed to have this strong "faith" but it was not a strength to me at all - it was only words.

It was not until years after I was DF'd that I found real faith. If someone asked me now what the foundation of my faith is I could give them an explanation at length.

As a JW I had a pat answer - one that I was trained to give, only problem is I didn't really FEEL it.

Good point, Dawn. You've got to FEEL the faith not just believe you have it somehow.

Each one actually still believes that today will be the day that they will survive into a righteous new order and never die. This is expounded in every WT. study, soon, now near at hand, again and again,it is this foundation belief that they hope and hold onto. The denial of death??? We have come to realize,it is a sham.We will all die and then????

Yet in practice, Blue, the Watchtower Society plans ahead as if this "system of things" will never pass away. Money, real estate, property, gifts, insurance policies, YOU NAME IT----they are getting more all the time because they know the reality is that they are not going to see the end of anything in their lifetime.

We always knew that the Society did not practice what it preached to the rank and file.I'm glad to see that you brought this out again. All the years we are sacrificing financially and they are building a financial empire.

Even in the early 70's, when the Society was preaching the virtues of selling homes and possessions for the sake of the good news, THEY were scooping up tax free property left and right. They do not practice what they preach.

If you really want to know what behind their foundation, you should consider the history of JWs. Start with a BUSINESSMAN name C.T. Russell. I highlighted Businessman for I doubt he more or less related to Masonry or at least trying to do so sometimes. He contacted with Second Adventist and borrowed beliefs of this group (second coming, the explanations of Daniel book, parousia, non-imortal souls, etc.. and a couple of beliefs from Christadelphians). All of those beliefs just timing-beliefs to recruit as much as members to the new group for the secret purpose of business (maybe, agian related to Masonic). Then The Governing Body nowadays did the same thin. They change doctrine through the time just to suit the needs of newcomers (they admitted when release the Knowledge-book, said nowadays people doesn't interest much in doctrines, for this reason they dumped PE-bookbecause this PE-book is too-religious with heavy in doctrines). They changes and we expose to the public that they actually flip-flop their doctrines and don't own any doctrine at all. Together with some scandals (U.N., Philip Morris, Silent Lambs, have shares in REGI bombs-making etc...). So now their behavior is "We don't care anymore, as long as we can get money form any sources). That's why recently we catch them with name re;late to many governments structures ("We don't care anymore even if you and public know . Money first now")> So Oil investment, mine investmnet and arms investment.etc.... As they admitted before, many "false religions" ususally have the respectful feature like the robbers in order to cheat public. They may well-trained in this aspect. They used same tactics, the doctrine or moral only an easy-to drop-off tuxedo, just used them as a good-cover to recruit the newcomers and ...money. That's all.

A desire for the reward of the new system and being perfect. Even the most sincere, if this was taken away, would probalby have lost faith.

It is like all other religions, death oriented. U live now for the after life reward.

The Fundamental Doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses is simplicity itself: Thou shalt obey the Governing Body in all things and pretend that it speaks for God.

Of course, most JWs don't really believe this doctrine, which is why they're scared to death to consider anything critical of WTS teaching.
