    how about a Holocaustopoly?

the sad thing is that the creator of the game, David T. Chang, wouldn't even have to change the name.

how about a Holocaustopoly? There could be gas chambers, etc. It'd just be a game, right

ok, a game about an event where millions of people where killed versus a game about a socioeconomic culture? yeah i see the relevance between the two.

and yes i think that MOST (not all) people who have a problem with this game are being oversensitive.

If you can not see why this game would be offensive to me, then you are being, imo, insensitive. Besides, your reasoning was that it is just a game, so why don't I find it funny? When does the subject matter become offensive? Who's the judge? I find this subject matter offensive, but if socioeconomic situations are fair game, let's spoof the starving children in Ethiopia or someone else's bad situation. Actually, let's not even make it accurate, let's just promote the negative stereotypes?

getting out of the ghetto is an option. stay in school. get a job. get off of welfare. get out of the ghetto. that IS an option although you may think not it is. and before you go off on me being insensitive...... my family was homeless at one point. my mom and dad and all of us five kids. sure my parents could have went on welfare moved into the ghetto and sat on their asses. but they didn't they both started working 2-3 jobs. and we survived. there's a way out for anyone who wants to apply themselves and get there.

you ARE being over sensitive. the ghetto is NOT a race thing. even if you see it as such it is not!! it is a socioeconomic enviroment. and you are (once again) turning a thread into a rascist one.

how would children's deaths in ethopia be funny? once again you are comparing apples to oranges. the holocaust was horrific!! and yet you bring it up so flippiantly. children dieing isn't the same as a beaten down neighborhood. and ADULTS making a CHOICE to do drugs/ be a pimp/prositute/drug dealer whatever. these are CHOICES they've made. there are alternatives. what alternative is there for a child who doesn't have food? how is this the same situation?

My ex wife once told me that when she was a girl they were not allowed to play Monopoly as the game stood as it was considered 'worldly'.

    So....

They had to play it as if they were on the ministry, streets were territory cards and houses were Bible Studies, and money was hours in service or something....

    Theopoly ?

    WTH are you talking about?:

the ghetto is NOT a race thing. even if you see it as such it is not!! it is a socioeconomic enviroment. and you are (once again) turning a thread into a rascist one.

Show me where I said the ghetto had anything to do with race?! You need to work on your reading comprehension my dear.

But even though you misrepresented what I said I will address your post further.

getting out of the ghetto is an option. stay in school. get a job. get off of welfare. get out of the ghetto. that IS an option although you may think not it is.

Where have I ever implied that remaining in the ghetto was not "optional"? Where have I implied that everyone born in the ghetto must remain there? You are making unfounded leaps about anything I have said. I do not support anything that perpetuates only the negative/inaccurate stereotypes of a group of people.

my family was homeless at one point. my mom and dad and all of us five kids. sure my parents could have went on welfare moved into the ghetto and sat on their asses.

I'm sorry to hear that. I grew up in a nice middle class family, in a middle class neighborhood. I never wanted for any necessity. Even so, your comment about moving into the ghetto and people sitting on their asses confuses me. I thought most people in ghettos were hard-working decent people and you imply that moving into the ghetto makes people lazy. Hmm. .

but they didn't they both started working 2-3 jobs. and we survived.

So people in the ghetto don't maintain 2-3 jobs and survive? Elucidate please. .

how would children's deaths in ethopia be funny?

I do not find it funny! I also don't find crack addiction funny nor prostitution nor crack houses nor car jackings nor buying stolen property funny. All of these are elements of this game that YOU think is so funny.

well then why are you so offended by something that you have nothing to do with? or are you just picking a random point and running with it because you have nothing better to do with your time. fortunately, i have things to occupy my time, so i will be replying no further. mostly due to personal attacks from you that are neither grounded nor necessary. the biggest offense was calling me P.A.M. which we have disscussed, and you know where i stand.

I didn't know calling you PAM was offensive and never did I once personally attack you. I am called SP all the time.

well then why are you so offended by something that you have nothing to do with?

Weird question. I am against many things that I am directly involved with or been through. I am against domestic violence, drug abuse, starving children. Had any of these things been mocked I would shown my dismay.

    The End
