There seems to be something lacking from headquarters to the local congregations. There's no zip, no vigor. Everything seems to be on automatic cruise control. Witnesses are just not deep religious thinkers. They simply do as they're told. The zeal and enthusiasm is GONE. The sense of urgency just isn't there. There really seems to be no leadership anymore. They have tried strong-arming the people and the result is that Witnesses are just doing what they want! They ignore the direction of the GB and the elders.....Is it because the Watchtower Society is no longer in control??? Have they given up?

Uhhh... I see no indications of such a wholesale running off of the rails. Sure, a few passengers are jumping off...
If you're right, though, min, it would mean you've got greeeaaat timing :)

I think that everyone in that organization is down and out. Their moral is low. Maybe those who just joined have a bit of vigor in them, but like you said Minimus, their zeal and enthusiasm is GONE.
The urgency is gone. But at what point did that happen?

The passengers that are left on the train are not jumping off. They're going for the ride. They are passively going nowhere fast.....JH, you're right. It's like BB King sang, "The thrill is gone".

It's possible that the emerging leadership are not really leaders, but followers promoted into leadership positions. It's what happens when "yes-men" who have no vision are placed in power.

It probably happened when the 1914 generation thing was tossed in the garbage. There's no urgency because there's no deadline.

Sure indicates that they Big Boys know that things are slowing down. Some of the biggest offenders in the urgency capacity are the elders and the rank and file imitate them. Why do more than the elders?

The elders already got it figured out. They know but they can't speak of it. The GB MUST know! But BIG MONEY is at stake here. Big money!

The Nov. 1995 issue was my last time to be lied to. I can't help but feel that members refer to the"endless generation doctrine" from time to time and then stop and consider how that should impact their life decisions.
The WTBS is an "end-time cult"..... always has been , always will be. Kinda hard to scare the living shit outta people if their great grand children might get destroyed if they don't shun their non-believing kids, relatives, worldlies....etc., etc., etc.

The missionaries are there because you can't just stop preaching all over the world.(It doesn't look good). The organization is going thru the motions. As Perry suggested, what are you going to do shun your grandchildren because the end isn't here for the next millenium?
