I still don't believe that micro biological life forms can survive a 60 million mile ride thru space and the intense heat of entering the earths atmosphere .

The nanobacteria that are suspected to be the smallest form of life yet discovered are extracted from core samples deep in the earth where the temperature is near 400 degrees F. Remember the organisms may have been protected by being within a sizable meteor. They withstand gamma radiation without harm. So time will tell.
My main focus here was the fallout from any new scientific discovery that confirms a naturalist view of the universe. I suspect that as was said here, they will roll with it as irrelevant and privatly be terribly disappointed about another success of science.

I would be interested if they found that there is actually water on mars . I've always questioned that because it looks like water from space does not actually mean it is water .
They haven't concluded that they found nano bacteria in the meteorite but state it looks like nano bacteria , there's a big difference .
I will be eagerly anticipating what comes out of all of this .

yes of course the meteorite inclusion has not been positively identified with fossilized nanobacteria or anything living for that matter. It is just tantalizingly similar. There is no surface water on Mars and has not been for many millions of years. The planet seems to have depleted it's liquid water thru natural conversion to CO and Hydrogen compounds coupled with the formation of ice caps. The same is happening on earth and gradually it will likewise loose it's oceans. I was reading recently that the latest Mars orbiter revaeled that the process seems to be reversing again as a natural evolution of the planet. And it is rather quick in astronomical scales. In only a few million years the planet will likely again have surface water and an atmosphere. There is interest in boring deep at sites where evidence of ancient water exists to perhaps find underground frozen or even liquid water reserves. Simple life can survive in such environments as was recently discovered miles deep under our own Antartica.
