I met the lead singer of information society a couple years ago at the burning man festival. Their newer stuff is pretty good, more industrial. That's the problem with a lot of 80's bands, they still make music, but no one listens to them anymore. Granted, some of it is crap, but a lot of it is very good. Gary Numan's newer stuff, for instance is beautiful. A lot of these people are still making music, much to the fake ass recording industry of today, which wants them to fade away, so new prettier faces can come in. Who would have thought 30 years ago that a pretty face was a prerequisite to getting a record contract? Just think. Black sabbath may have never made it under those conditions. Nor Pink floyd, or numerous other bands. If they'd been starting out today, that is.
Favourite 80's song.....EVER!!

I love the 80s, came of age during that decade and alot of good things came my way.
All the music posted above was great, and my car radio was tuned to stations that played it all....
However, I was living in NYC in that decade and some of the hottest spots played some very different music...
THE RAINBOW ROOM at the RCA tower---played rediscovered swing music with a 25 piece orchestra
BEMELMANS BAR at the CARLYLE Hotel ---Bobby Short singing Cole Porter
I guess New York was in a nostalgic mode that decade.
