Scoob, are you here to try to "heal" others? Is your posting to help people? Actually, what reason do you have to post on an exjw site? Maybe you post here to "fight for the underdog".
Fighting for the Underdog...and other JW ramblings.......

I agree that viciousness is uncalled for, yet.... I don't think all of us are that way. I was ashamed of the board when posters turned on ugg, without checking all the facts. I wish we would go slower with the average person, say, in love with a JW and comes here for advice. I mean, how many of us listened to ANYBODY when we were in love? I figure A JW apologist like scholar on the other hand, deserves to be challenged. Hey, they should be able to back up their statements. Name calling? Always uncalled for. Laughing in the face of a JW's misfortune? Extremely poor taste. The Watchtower loses a big court case? Dancing in the streets!

Minimus, as much affection as I have for you......... You'll never be able to box me into a simple question and answer scenario as is your speciality For once get over the black and white, "Whats a pro-jw posting on an ex-jw site" question! Its getting erm, .....tired.
No ulterior motive, just human nature.

sometimes I too feel that when a JW dares to tip toe into this forum he or she is blasted away, people jumping on them etc. On one hand it is understandable but not very nice towards the JW.
I like JW's to be here, to try to defend the doctrines and practices of the society. Sofar you have been mild and thoughtful as to your approach but you have been mocked and ridiculed often by others. And that's sad.
Hopefully an intelligent individual will see through all this and makes an informed decision based on the information presented by both parties and personal research. The decision lies ultimately with the individual and we should respect that decision wether it is pro, con or something in between.

Why do people keep asking a JW why he posts here? I think it is harassing and confronting.
The fact that a JW posts here is something that should be cheered! It shows a JW that at least wants to hear the opposing side, other than dismiss it out of hand. It shows also a more open mind than most JW's. It shows he follows not every word of the society, he thinks independently! So the fact that a JW posts here should be celebrated, not atacked!

I love you too, Scooby. I think any JW should post here.Or any non-jw. If a JW posts things about JWs and is asked to elaborate on their feelings but said "JW" always runs away from dealing with an issue, then, it might appear that the "JW" is being harrassed. Harrassment is not happening but confrontation surely is----and why not? If Scooby wants to be "Underdog", then that goes with the territory. If any of us want to give OUR opinion about something, that's wonderful. But whenever pressed as to why the opinion is made, one hears that they're feeling boxed in, well, that's too bad. When comments are made regarding "healing", and that this place doesn't effect that, I must wonder whether Scooby feels he 's here to "heal". But giving an answer to that is out of the question. If a person hits and runs, then they have to know that they might be called on it.....I feel bad for underdogs too. Especially, if they are being mistreated . I don't like it when people slyly slam someone and when called on it, retreat into hiding. There's a lot of things that I might not like but make no mistake----SCOOBY is not one of them. Scooby, I like you because I know you're a very good person and I believe you would NEVER try to hurt a person intentionally. My gut says that you would be available to help anyone, whether you liked them or they liked you. To me, that's the mark of a good person, which is a rare commodity. Please, NEVER confuse my view of a person and a poster. I might not think what Scooby posts is true or accurate and I might question his position, but I NEVER question the man's heart and soul behind the poster's name.....Scooby's my man. He's just on the wrong side.

but some learn to find an inner strength in themselves that helps them overcome all that
Many people must go through a very understandable period of anger and adjustment before they can get to that point. That is also part of healing.
