Happy Halloween, Folks!

This was my project for last year, and it took much of the year to learn and play it, but it is "halloween appropriate." It is the Danse Macabre and was orginally written for orchestra only. Franz Liszt did the piano reduction, and it is nearly impossible to play. At least for me anyway.

Anyway, happy Halloween, you apostates and wanna be apostates!

My project for this year is the Rachmaninoff "Rhapsody on a Theme By Paganini." I'm one or two months away from presenting it. It's hard enough to learn the piano part, but I also have to learn the orchestra part, and record that and then record the piano part, so the music makes sense.

    I'm a masochist. What can I say?

    Nice to see you Farkel.

My computer won't open it up... it opens under WMV, but the format is not correct... hmm... I do want to hear it!

Awesome. I envy any one can play an instrument. I was never allowed to because I might have to play the national anthem or holiday stuff. Some day I will learn to play something. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it bunches.

I can't wait to hear this again Farkel. I loved it when you played it over the phone. I'm sure I'll enjoy it just as much now, if not more.

Wow, Farkel! That excellent level of musicianship must takes hours of practise.

: Wow, Farkel! That excellent level of musicianship must takes hours of practise.

Uh, at least two hours per day. For the last forty five years. That's over 32,000 hours of practice, overall. The Danse Macabre took four or five months for me to learn. Or, to put it in time, considering I put two hours per day on it over four or five months, it (to speak in strictly scientific terms) is a HELL of a LOT of TIME! Hundreds of hours of my time for just that one.

This stuff doesn't come easy. Nothing worthwhile like this comes easy.

I still practice at least one or two hours per day. And I'm near death! (Or at least I should be. Anyone who is as stupid as I am, working to give total strangers the fruits of my labors for nothing and then watching some losers among them critique it, should be shot. I should be shot for doing this.)
