Well, they have always held that they are God's spokesperson (although the specific definition of spokesperson has blown in the wind) and obedience to God means obedience to them.

So, absolute adherence to their words has never been changed.

women are lesser vessels, blood, flood, Armageddon, FDS, no idolatry (well ever since they took the big cross down anyway...*LOL* Anyone ever remember going to a special meeting where they had a slide show presentation and they showed the JW church w/a big fat cross on top?

    NN:

You left out the doctrine on the "soul." Like many beliefs, Russell accepted the teachings of some Second Adventists on many of these doctrines. These have remained intact from his time. It is in the area of prophecy that we see many changes over the last 120 years of the Watchtower Society.

Actually, in his will, Russell appointed women to make sure the publication of the WT continued as he wanted it to. Rutherford took very little time getting them removed from administration and put in there proper place. The denigration of women was also a change--instituted by the "Judge."

Russell's record on treatment of women is not all that great either. Just read the account of how he treated his wife before, during and after his separation. (Apocalypse Delayed Pages 35-40)
