What I do question is his taste in women -- how the hell would a man pick Camilla Parker Bowles over Diana - well I suppose it takes all sorts to make a world - in my eyes there would be no contest but I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I agree....Bowles looks like his mother, for god's sake.

I think that this Diana schlep is getting frightfully old; oh, poor little Lady Die, so sad, so rich, so stupid... she married into a mad house, and became rich as a result. Despite having advantages many divorced woman would love to have, she proceded to pout, moan, and court public sympathy until she inadvertantly made herself an enduring icon rather than an embaressing has been by getting killed in a car crash in a car driven by a drunken man. Charles is as gay as a gay man that can make jokes about being his lovers tampon woul be; not.

Maybe because some people base their relationships on shared interests and background, mutual pleasure in each others company and respect for each others opinions and values rather than some scorecard idea of physical attractiveness. And thank God for that, or most of us would die lonely.

The bigger question is why the Firm did not deem Camilla to be a suitable wife for Charles in the first place, when it is now acceptable for the heir to the throne and the next head of the Church of England to parade her around as his mistress.

Hopefully the outrageous pantomime of the Royal family's behaviour and lifestyle will pave the way for a republic. I'm sure that being the wealthiest family in the western world would be some recompense for not having to do public duties and not having to meet us filthy commoners.

Maybe it's a breading thing. Bloodlines still have some importance in some of the upper classes. They have an awareness that far surpasses the average.

Charles will eventually become King. Which means that his bride must, as Queen, be considered to be as pure as the driven snow. Can't have someone claiming to have "known" the Queen! Princess D was checked out as to her virginity I recall.

What's even dafter is that Charles will also be head of the church when he ascends the throne.

Ah well. A Constitutional Monarchy does require a monarch I guess.

I don't follow royalty closely but it appears that the Queen isn't keen on her son taking over anytime soon. I would say she'll remain queen until she dies. Is that right?

Stacy, it's not usual for a Monarch to step down. My guess is that Charles will probably be in his 60's before he takes over after his mum kicks the bucket.

    Englishman.
