I don't remember getting asked any stupid questions, but as an employer and now and asking the questions I have gotten stupid responses.

I had a guy applying as a car stereo installer whose resume said he was valedictorian. Like that wasn't easy to find out with a phone call!

"Do you have or are you planning to have any children?" "Are you planning to go back to school?"

Oh gawd, wouldn't want to upset their lives, now would we? At my current job, they were worried that I'd continue my education and move on to a better job, or that school would disrupt work. Heaven forbid that they have actual human beings with goals and plans working for them!!!

I was seriously asked that question... that is how they try to weed out us horrible and evil atheists.

I was interviewing for a job with a company in Atlanta to drive a vending route. As the interview was wrapping up, the manager leaned forward and asked me one last question. "Do you have any problem working with black people?"

I said very sarcastically "not at all, I think everyone should have to work with them" and looked him straight in the eyes as I said it.

I got the job and he never said anything about "black people" to me again.

Can you believe that was in the 90's for cryin' out loud? Oh yeah right I don't want to work with "negroes". WTF, did he think I was going to turn down a job because I'd maybe have to work with -- gasp! -- blacks?

Some people! Someone ought to slap their mommas for havin' 'em!
