Hi larc,
Thank you! you're right, sometimes folks don't know how to go about getting started at uni....if he is at all interested,I'd be happy to help with that.
Some suggestions; your telephone book is a good way to start. All colleges/schools are listedm, addresses and phone numbers for general info. Many phone books have city/town maps in the beginning pages, these help you see the areas and travel distances.
A call to a university that interests you, will provide you with course schedules, catalogs thru the mail,,they include all numbers such as registrar, financial aid,new student info.
They are extremely helpful over the phone, will set up appts, career /course of study counseling, etc.
It's not at all difficult,in fact quite easy, even if you have special physical needs, you are accomodated.
It starts with opening the book and one phone call! Go for it!,best of luck,Tina
Oh PS ak,
Sometimes when we are attempting to do something brand new, never tried before,it's perfectly normal to feel a bit nervous or anxious. The folks you will speak with understand this,,,,,and from my own experience,I couldnt have asked for nicer kinder helpful people than I did who helped me get started at uni.T
