  i see post after post on what u members of this site call BAD picture, how can u show the end of this world in a good way? anyone answer me that? as a JW i believe and its my choice to do so based on bible teachings. 1-we are the only religious group that only agnoliges chrits death , not his birth . a.k.a christmas after all if christ had sinned durrying his life on earth , would u celebrate his birth? the point is , that christ was put here to attone for our sins , by his death we have gained back what god originally intended for us? i beleive its to live forever on the earth , anyone else can beleive for another reason.

  bottom line is u are all attacking an organization (JW's) on every angle pictured in books, oh but what about the horror movies kids watch ...they choose to believ and we all have bad dreams i help my lil bros and say listen guys its not u in this pic , ok i explain to them befor ethey look atthe pics or read anything....that god says something like will happen if we follow his commandments, it wont happen to us.

  in the past week ive stumbled acrcoss lots of web material as in, this site as it the jehovahs witnesses reform against blood site and u know what i see, very few put there names on there posts when they type , what is everyone affraid of? if u believe in what in what jehovah says in the bible ? then believe it ? ill state my name beside anything that i write or say , cause i beleive in god thats why its funny to see people coward away from that.

  look at this page one devoted to jehovahs witnesses...almost all of u think that we are false preachers , as did the pharsies in jesus day. but look at the page www.jehoavh's-witnesses.com . thats nice to know though that some of u have the idea that we are what u say we are. But, this is a prime example as to why we are taught to guard from these things .

  I agree that things are not right with the world. However, the "end" has been predicted with regularity for nearly two thousand years. What convinces you that now is the actual time? There was just as much bloodshed, crime, and suffering in Jesus' day. The only difference now is that we have better communications media than we did two millenia ago, so now we are more aware of it. Nothing has changed.

  All of Christendom celebrates Easter as well. While the name "Easter" has its root in pagan origin, the sentiment is essentially correct, and little different from the JWs, except for doctrinal semantics.

  Frankly, if I were a parent, I would rather take my child to a horror movie than to force him/her to live the horror of fear of Armageddon. Furthermore, with pedophilia rampant in many JW congregations worldwide, I would not want my child subjected to the horror of possible molestation by a congregation member, knowing the "two witnesses" rule was being strictly enforced.

  Many of the people who post on various sites are from JW families. They are afraid of being cut off from family members and friends if they are reproved or disfellowshipped. For a religion that teaches the virtues of the family unit, they should understand this better than anyone else.

  Nick, you wouldn't be interested in giving us your full name and the congregation you attend, would you? I didn't think so. You know what would happen to you if someone reported you for participating on a message forum for "apostates", don't you?

  But, this is a prime example as to why we are taught to guard from these things .

  If you are taught to "guard from these things", what are you doing here? Do you have questions about your own faith? If so, we are here to help! Open your mind, look beyond what you are told to believe, and examine your faith like the ancient Beroeans did.

  Most of the postings here are from people who have first hand experience with the Watchtower Society. The reason that the Watchtower leaders are fearful that JWs may consider such material is because it comes from those who were intimately associated. Some of them served as elders, pioneers, circuit overseers, etc. Not all who post here have abandoned Jehovah or Christ. Rather, they have chosen to obey God and Christ over a human organization that doesn't allow any member to ask questions or express doubts about it.

  I would recommend that you get a copy of CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE or APOCALYPSE DELAYED to understand why men of good faith have chosen to leave the organization. Until you get a balanced view of both sides, you will be unable to draw your OWN conclusions rather than those of the Watchtower Society.

  i do not question my faith as a jehovah's witness, at one point yes i did. but its because we are all imperfect and a lil about me i question everything even the simple things in life . i see ur point in being here i just voiced my opinion thats all u can do. and yes i shouldnt be hare because i dont need help butat the same time i never pick spots of what people wriet a quote them and reply to the parts i picked out. i reply to the whole message . well, let me say one thing to u , in the bible it says (MAN MUST NOT LIE WITH OTHER MEN) if u believe the bible then god didnt make u the way u are! number two the fact the ur parents said to u they would rather have a GAY son rather then a JW son makes me wonder . a presbyterian minister of a catholic church tells u that? why such a hate for JW's then from ur parents ? doesnt the bible say that gos people will have persecution and ridicule?

  i guess u just need to re read the ten commandments , if u want to , one of them mite come off as being directed right back to u, u sound as if only JW's teach the being a homosexual is not what god had intened unless he made an exeption 4 urself i dont see how u or any other homosexual person on teh earth can say god is with me even though u prctice what it is written in the bible as something not to do!

  and yes i do know what would happen if i posted my congragation and last name here but im not questioning my faith or denying it in anyway, thank u though i shouldnt be here ur right have a nice day

  Hi Nick, and welcome to the board.

  Your main disagreement with what you've read is our comments about the pictures in the publications, but I see that as more of a side issue. The things I'm concerned about in connection to the wtbts are things like child abuse, constant new doctrines(new light), wt membership of the united nations, differing standards(Malawi/Mexico), etc. What are your oppinions on these matters? You can find more information on them in the scandals section, or by using the search feature. Judge the whole picture, not just what you read on one thread.

  Nick, Welcome. You sound like a compassionate and caring person. Yes, "the horror movies kids watch" and the situation of the world today certainly could use some improvement. The world and the people in it seem quite the mess. There was a time when I considered myself better than those of the world. But guess what Nick, I was in some ways much worse than those of the world, because at that time I worshipped and groveled at the feet of an organization based on a tribal deity whose foundation and fame is built on wide spread destruction and murder. A god of armies. A god of war. I was swimming in blood and horror, and I didn't even know it. I was like a blind person following the blind. Any person in this day and age who acted like the god I was raised to believe in and admire, would be incarcerated as criminally insane, or perhaps, put to death. These types of people are usually seen as the most repugnant and vile of society. There came a time Nick, when I could no longer worship an idea of god which has, by far, lower morals than my own? I would never kill my your own children. Never. Would you Nick? I could no longer play the role of loving a god who would kill me and my children if I didn't. I realized it was impossible for me to honestly and sincerely love that which went against the very nature of love. I realized the god I was raised with -- was a false god. Some people seem to thrive within the psychological abuse of threats of death and destruction by the hands of a vengeful god. But many other do not, and escape it. Perhaps we are just too caring, too compassionate, and too loving for that. I bet, deep down, you are too Nick. I bet, deep down, you hurt so bad you want to scream. Peace to you Nick. j

  Compare the writing style of this individual to another named "abraham". How would this person know I am gay when I mentioned nothing about it in this thread? I really doubt this person has been perusing all the threads on this board.
