Therefore only God can produce a miracle...

I remember the time, according to the Bible, that Jesus performed miracles. Ergo...

If we cannot determine something as fundamental as whether god is real or not, then we have no basis on which to accept any particular god. If god cannot be detected or otherwise accounted for, then we cannot know who or what it is.

We can eliminate certain types or versions of god by simple inference. I do not believe that an interventionist god exists, seeing as we do not ever interact or experience this god (except in ways that are indistinguishable from delusion or hallucination or simple mistaken conclusions... which the followers of one deity will use when rejecting other deities, but not their own). The explanation that god is immaterial and impossible to prove does not matter here- that explanation actually makes it possible to disprove the concept of an interventionist god.

In the same way, we can study the qualities that are assigned to a particular god and compare them to its actions and to the rationalizations for those actions. If you define god a certain way, and your chosen god doesn't meet the criteria, then it either doesn't exist or is quite different from what you believe it to be, which might make you wish that it didn't exist.

We don't have to prove that there is no god. We can simply analyze each god that is offered up as the real one and determine if there is merit to the concept. Gods that don't make sense can be discarded. The most likely option, in my mind, is that god is not very concerned with this planet or its people; we're probably just some side effect of an experiment, destined to be wiped away once enough data has been collected.

That god cannot be disproven, and his nature is perfectly in keeping with the universe and our world as they exist. And he fits any of the considerations for other gods much better than they do.

So this entire discussion quickly went from: we have a ton of evidence that it happened in 607, and when pressed for actual evidence, it turns out “because God says so” as we’ve pointed out that even the Bible does not support the date.

My appeal to actual accepted scholarly evidence from non-WTBTS/JW sources is still unanswered.

Hell, even a clear explanation as to why Daniel and Jeremiah talks about a different set of 70 years even though one references the other directly, or why Daniel had to discern the mystery of the meaning of the number/period even though he supposedly lived it. It seems clear that Daniel tacitly admits the 70 years are not literal.

neither ‘scholar’ nor Fisherman have provided any justification whatsoever for the several ways that JW interpretations about the ‘appointed times of the nations’ and related concepts deviate from what the Bible actually says.

Sure the scholar has only no amount of miracle or proof or reason would convince you. You reject it. You don’t want it. Like a defense attorney fighting for his client’s freedom at a trial, he wants to win and he doesn’t decide what if the burden of prop was met.

I remember the time, according to the Bible, that Jesus performed miracles. Ergo...

Ergo error in logic, Jesus’s miracles were from God. “But if it is with God’s finger..” The purpose of Jesus’s miracles were to prove his credentials.

Like with Moses: “ I have made you God to Pharoh” God was the source of the miracles.

Jeffro cites logical fallacies then misapplies them to my argument.

How do you know for a fact that there aren’t invisible goblins that want your socks.

The comparison is not congruent and neither does does the nonexistence of goblins prove that God cannot exist.

Oh look the pigeon knocks over the king, craps on the chess board and claims victory. Another win for the apologists.

Also, when it comes to proof of God and believing that he exist...

[John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”]

For those that do not believe now, I will tell you that when WW3 breaks out and this current system collapses and as a result the UN is given authority for 42-months, many will certainly start to believe at that time. And for those that don't believe during that time, then you will get your proof that you need to see in order to believe. You will see at the end of the 42-months, and you will believe then.

[Mark 13:24 “But in those days, following that distress, “’the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ 26 At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.]

a question to Scholar and Fisherman:

Do you believe Adam and Eve were real people ?

Do you believe Adam and Eve were real people ?

Jesus refers to them as real: “ Male and female he created them.” So does the rest of the Bible refers to them as historical and not allegory.
