Lucky... it sounds like what you went through as a kid was horrible.
But I'm wondering... do you think that you might be channelling some of your anger towards sk8r and other double-lifers, when it really is about what was done by your parents, the elders, and/or the organization?
The double-lifers, after all, were just trying--within the framework of their oppressive upbringing--to live normal, borg-free lives. For them--or sk8r--to be mistreated just because you were mistreated may be equality, but it's certainly not justice.
Just my two cents.

So she can't remember anything that happened in 2002? Gawd I wish I could forget whole years like that. Seems many Jehovah's Witnesses have selective memory these days.
For me it was, "Yes you can have a beard."
Then six months later it was, "We never said you could wear a beard."
Hahahaha, those were the good ol days. I say the heck with her, have a good time with your boyfriend.

Livejournal seems to have a thriving community of JW kids recording their exploits of going to college, watching unsuitable films and TV, listening to unsuitable music, going to the prom and any other normal activity that the WT officially disapproves of. Some don't make any effort to disguise their identity. Despite the fact that everything they hear in the meetings and read in the literature goes in one ear and out the other, they are rabidly defensive of JWs.
