Yes, some days it is hard to come to terms with how much of our life some of us have spent/given to the org... yet we can make a difference, and bring hope and healing to others.
It is always good to remember that people can be deeply affected by the happenings and postings on forums and boards like this... for me, it has been a definite healing and therapy!
How fulfilling to know that we can make a difference, large or small, in helping others.

Today, I got out of bed in order to spend about six hours cleaning a client's very large house. Surprise of surprises, the bending and stooping and scrubbing didn't kill me. There was no need to come home and sleep for two hours.
The client sure was happy to have a clean house again!
This is a great post CoCo ,our words can either be up-building or cutting to people depending on how vulnerable they are and how we speak to them.
Thankfully this site is supportive and comforting to those who post here as newbies.and of course oldies. .
Like all "families" sometimes after a while we may get a bit testy with each other however we don`t hold grudges.
(like somebody we all know)
And we are here to encourage each other and I think we do that exceedingly well on this board.

I'm glad I awoke to this post, smiddy, although it's not my custom to get up at 4:00 a.m.
Feeling discouraged because of lack of response to an important question I posed, I decided to give it another try and not harbor negative feelings. After all, the replies I received did answer my question. Thanks for all that you wrote, including what I posted below.

Today was a totally productive day, teaching creative writing to children.
Two pre-teen students in particular are very bright -- we discussed their plans for the future, businesses they want to open. They showed me their floor plans, discussed services and merchandise they will offer customers, . . . The creative writing aspect of class dwelt on their needing to develop good communication skills, both written and verbal.
I love a student who is passionate and doesn't need constant prodding.
I am bit of a recluse and my darkest thought usually come about through people so avoiding them has made me much more stable.
My reason for getting up is looking after these precious creatures and educating others how to care for them.
I only met this little girl for the first time today as 2 weeks old is the earliest they can be handled. It was love at first sight. I just need a name for her now. <3
