After 2034 - what then?

OK, 'postate thnkers and speculators - we know (yes we DO, admit it) that 2034 will come and go and there will have been no magical mystical Armageddon.

Obviously, explanation will be in order.

Will the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society:

a. Abandon and repudiate the hallowed date of 1914? If so, how? Will the year of sputnik (October 4, 1957) become the "new" 1914? Will 2077 (1957 + 120) become the "new" 2034?

b. remain fixed on 1914 as an anchor date (being so firmly based, as it is, in BS [I don't mean "Bible Student"] chronology) and come up with a new, even farther-reaching target year? If so, what Bible based excuse will they employ?

c. Proclaim that Armageddon came invisibly and that they are now living in Paradise, and that the righteous will live forever and only the wicked and those who are of little faith will ever die?

Prediction: the brother giving this "new light" will die of a heart attack as he is delivering it at an assembly.

d. Attempt the very risky but potentially rewarding "slingshot maneuver," resurrecting the old teachings (original light) of Rutherford?

e. Admit they were full of it since the get-go, dissolve the WTB&TS and encourage everyone to join the Methodists?

The present crop of old geezers on the GB will have cheerfully gone to their rewards by then, and while they take their dirt naps, new rulers will seek ways to discredit them and disavow any link to their insane pronouncements.

Yes, Brothers, there is much to look forward to in the exciting years ahead as we see the failure of prophecy before our very eyes!

1. Yes, Jehovah's people have had to revise expectations from time to time. Because of our eagerness, we have hoped for the new system earlier than Jehovah's timetable has called for it. Some expectations that appeared to be backed up by Bible chronology did not materialize at the anticipated time. Out of zeal and enthusiasm for the vindication of Jehovah's name, Word and purposes, and the desire for the new system, some of his servants have at times been premature in their expectations.

2. Jehovah's Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus' second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions 'in the name of Jehovah.' Never did they say, 'These are the words of Jehovah.' How foolish to take the view that expectations needing some adjustment should call into question the whole body of truth!

By Jove! I think you've got something there! Can we expect New Light from the younger, not from 1935, GB members in the near future? They could actually disavow the whole goofy mess and go main stream. They could get away with it. They could openly expose all the crap/ scandals blame it on them and wash their hands of the apostate old geezers. It could work.

This isn't bad, but they'll have to change their theory on people "growing younger". My guess is that they'll work on the idea of "we are living in the days of Armageddon" and explained that the wicked are slowly being destroyed by Jehovah. That will give them some more time. "Jehovah's people are anxiously waiting to seeing the final day of Armageddon". Imagine the rumors when someone leaves! "Oh, brother Minimus was hit in the head with a huge fireball and died".
