    Add up the digits that someone posts and subtract that number from 9 to get the "answer".

    Edit: you have to keep adding the digits till you get a single digit, btw.

    And you did not lead us to believe it is anything more than a Math Trick.

    Mine was 394. When you get home from field service tomorrow I'm sure you will calculate my circled number to be (X)?

    The sum of the digits in your answer always equals 9. So when someone gives us all the digits except one of them, you can determine the missing digit by subtracting the sum of the reported digits from 9.
