So sorry for your loss ScottyRex. Your Nan seems like a lovely and smart woman. I like her illustration of life being like climbing up a ladder. Everyone only gets so far... and then they "fall" off.

You woke up in time to ask your Nan all kinds of questions. All of my older relatives died while I still believed WT/JW..org lie about people never dying. I thought I had all eternity to ask my relatives questions in WT/JW..org's New Order. Nope. Oops. They lied. All living things die...

I am glad you have wonderful memories of her to cherish.

    Hugs

    Thanks very much Lois.

I think you may have misunderstood me tho. My nan was never a JW, but thinking back on the many conversations we had, I think its safe to say she certainly had leanings that way from her interactions with them from the late 1950's and onwards up until 2017.

I certainly remember talking to my nan back in 2013 and he referencing 'the Truth'

Whatever. She was a game old girl, took no nonsense. And I loved her very much.

Thank you Scotty for introducing me to your lovely Nan. She sounds priceless. Your post has renewed my determination to be "that kind of Nan" to my own grandson.

Thank you and your Nan for the inspiration.

    Hugs to you.

Sounds like Nan was a best friend kind of Grandma. You don't always find that in families so it's a great treasure that you have in memories.

How lovely that she remained such a character with her roll-ups! 88 - what a fantastic age. Sorry for your loss - grandparents are our link to the past and we miss it when they're gone.

@Millie210 Would you mind PMing me with a safe email address with your name, Millie210. I would like to correspond with you. I can read PM's but cannot send them. Thank you.

ScottyRex, I got it that your Nan wasn't a dear zombie dub. I did say she was a "smart" woman. Did she express to you her thoughts where she "might go" after "falling off" the top rung of her ladder?

I lost all of my grandparents out of town and wasn't able to attend their funerals either, they were not JWS, still feel bad about that.

JWS religion told me to not get emotionally attached to non-JWS or what church their funerals were in.

They were all good people but they belonged to another religion.
