What is that e-watchman site all about?

Interesting comments, Enishi. I never thought of E-Watchman's commentary in that way. Likely the guy has no clue that his efforts could affect people like they did you. You Know always liked to grandstand, and many posters told him that it was obvious that his years of posting on JWD and H2O were the result of not being listened to in his own congregations. He even more or less predicted "the end" several times, for 1997 through 2001. He seemed rather disappointed that it didn't come, but that didn't stop him from making all sorts of other dire predictions. "Jehovah will do this. Jehovah will do that." All based on Isaiah and so forth, and not one thing ever coming to pass. One often wonders what motivates people like that. AlanF

I think his deal is he needs to feel important. So he found a scripture that he applied to himself and then started preaching what he believed. I think that he expects too much from prophecy - I mean, he just wants to show off how smart he is and how he can "interpret" prophecy.

So he maintains the platform of moral righteousness by claiming to be a great JW, but he is sharp, harsh, condemning, unforgiving - I had a few email exchanges with him that revealed him to be a very pharaisaical and Old Testament kind of guy.

Plus, he refuses to identify himself, which must drive the Borgmasters crazy. If he ever slipped up and revealed his identity, he'd be out on his ear and he knows it.

I think he is motivated by a certain concern for his brothers, and thinks he is doing them a favor by confronting "apostate" dogma.

So he wants to think for himself, and he wants to think for you too.

I have written a few 'questions' to him. I played various 'parts' - 'outraged dub', 'sincere questioner', 'Flatterer' (gag , I know).

I got replies to most of my questions, I say replies and not answers because a lot of my questions were edited out with the famous ellipsies (...) so beloved by the WTS. Also, he raises a question about your question and then answers that question and ignors your original question. He also belittles questioners and uses WTS lables like 'sincere ones' etc. He also edits out any reference to past WT failures and anything touching on Booze Rutherford and Russell, espsecially quotes from Russell like him (russell) not wanting an organisation and the like, this is I think because it erodes his stand on being a chosen one in some way. I did send an 'Outraged Dub' question which he has actually answered in full, and my how full, it is endless, I fell asleep reading it. If you want to see it I hope it has reproduced below. I know I should not badger-bait but the guy is such a pompus ass I couldn't resist. http://www.e-watchman.com/commentaries/aug_24_saying_prophet.html. It is the bit about the reply to a questioner - sleep tight. Night.

I hope the link works ok, I tried to embed but it would not work.

Are you saying that you have been appointed by Jehovah - as the prophets of old were - to denounce his people and organization?

    No, not exactly.

The above was in the first paragraph...... that's as far as I got when my BS meter registered an 8.6.

    Interesting.

I have just read some of his stuff posted in the link above. Apparently he was a Pioneer and then Elder for years and then had his "own little experience" which he relates to being "born again" etc etc. I lost interest too after this......

If he doesn't want to be JW anymore thats fair enough, if he wants to speak against them, then again fair enough. What galls me though is that he claims to speak for them, as if he's still on the inside. He seems to like the sound of his own voice too much, and is way too self promoting. (IMHO of course!)
