Working in the Australian film industry I couldn't agree more with the positive comments made here.

I've met Aussie actors and singers and what makes most of them special is their non-pretentious attitude. Russell C is a New Zealander and he is full of himself so he doesn't count!

Australians are very proud of their film history and work very hard to preserve it for future generations. And although Aussies can sometimes be 'knockers' they are proud of their actors.

But it's wonderful to see other countries appreciate them.

One thing that amazes me is how well they nail American accents. I don't live too far from West Virginia, and I can tell you that Russell's WV accent in "A Beautiful Mind" was dead-on.

Also, I couldn't believe it when I saw X-men, then saw the DVD extra where they were interviewing Hugh Jackman. I heard not a trace of his Aussie accent in the movie.

My flying instructor Rod Venables did all the flying in Mad max 3 with Mel Gibson and when Rod came back from Coopa Pede all the women in the aero club wanted to know all about Mel Gibson. Rod is such a casual bloke I got the movie on video told him I had seen the movie that he done the flying in. He just said ' bring it round sometime havent seen it yet' , This was 3 months after the movie was released. Barry
